SNFF 2012 02 12
A little late but I am not going to give up on this weekly feature. Thanks to those who post and even get it kicked off some Sundays
I am still working on my Sherman. Progress is real slow as I am making silicone molds of everything. I have spent time on a M4 Low bustle turret with loader hatch. I have a use for a bunch of these so I decided I would cast a bunch. I got tired of applying rough casting texture so these trurrets have the texture cast into the detail.
If you have been working on something and just want to quckly showcase it without a full thread, feel free to add a couple of teasers on SNFF.
Cheers

Havent done much of late, but last night I got the bug. At about 20:00 I decided to take apart the Tamiya Pershing adn install Daryl's gearbox plate. Well, to make a 4 hour story short, I added the plate, then figured while I'm in there I should throw in the 480 motors I had sitting on the workbench for spares. I also fixed the slight whine in the one gearbox and greased the boxes and the outdrives. She purrs like a kitten now. Due to the spur of the moment modss, I did not get any pics, but some of you will see it in action soon enough.

Thanks Joe. SNFF is perfect for spur of the moment type stuff. A quick picture, a short note, and back to the bench.
Tonight I am casting some persicopes, and hatch latches.

I started a Tamiya Sherman last weekend - got some primer on some parts and am waiting for some stuff to get in (and better weather for painting) before I get started in earnest. So while waiting, I filed my taxes, planned a spring vacation to Hawaii, and started on a few US troops to support the tank.

YHR, Thanks for hosting it tonight, I always enjoy this thread.
Here is what I started on this week. I am making spare track holders for the Panther G.
I'm using sterling sliver bar stock, some chain and earring posts I had laying arround. For mounting to the tank I used brass bolts, it solders well to silver. They are not done yet.
One pix at a time, here we go...

Oohh, me likey! Is that the kit or the RC version? I appreciate the M16 but the standard M3 has my attention!
I must get one soon and I will be asking questions!

Pzjgr, Like the surface texture, also where did you get your track hangers on the turret of the Tiger I from?
YHR, what kind of RTV do you use?
Thanks,
Rudy

Thanks Dan and Pzjgr. , those are beautiful, look like they are workable as well. May have to save up to get a set. Going to try and find me some RTV as well.

Striped down one of those department store RC JEEP toys by NEW BRIGHT. It was originally black and yellow with paper decals and now it is OD with the roll bar, seats and dash the black plastic.
I figure it's the next step into RC trucks. Just gotta find some narrower tires as these are not quite as wide as a rock crawlers, but too wide for my taste.
The dogs hate it.

WalMart for $25.00
It only has one speed and a narrow turning radius but only takes AA batteries.
