RE: RC military trucks
Not that I have seen, I have seen that video before and it is scratch built, I have looked into making my own also, just don't know if I want to take the plunge. I think your best bet would be to make a chassis and use the tamiya cab.

RE: RC military trucks
All that I know of are scratch builtor based off of an existing chassis such as the Tamiya globe liner. I'm building a crawler recovery version based on a '42 kenworth wrecker that
is using a worminator 6X6 chassis.
is using a worminator 6X6 chassis.

RE: RC military trucks
there are a few companies in Germany who make 1/16 trucks I don’t have any links but they sell things like the Thaun Elefant tank transporter and various MAN trucks also 6 and 8 wheeled armoured cars.

RE: RC military trucks
I have searched for sometime to find 1/16th military trucks and very little is available. Nothing seems to be offered in German livery, but there is the Danbury metal jeep on the US side. I have taken the Highway 61 1940's series trucks and was able to convert them to acceptable American and German trucks, but I'd still like to find a a source to make the 1/16th Open Blitz 1&1/2 ton and Mercedes Benz 2 ton German trucks. You might find this thread helprful. PP

RE: RC military trucks
Not many options out there. The best thing you can do is build your own chassis and then scratch build a cab. There are some early truck cabs on the market but very few.

RE: RC military trucks
It isn't strictly a military truck although it was supposedly used to move heavy equipment by the Germans before and during the war years. I'm referring to the KAELBLE Z6WA2.

Please no off color comments about the price; it is what it is. The project to make this thing was a long standing
desire by the late Jochen Maier; he first offered it in 1996. I saw the prototype run while I was there that year.
Back then the model could be purchased for not even 1/3 of the current price listed. I was set to buy one but
house priorities preempted that. Jurgen Stehr later purchased the company from Maier, changed the name and upped the prices.
The model is 1/10 scale, very well detailed and can be purchased with a 10-speed transmission. It is cery impressive.
Jurgen has begun to offer options; basic kit that might bring in into the reach of many more potential buyers
than previously. I believe the most costly version, for that eye popping price is fully built but I could be wrong

RE: RC military trucks
Guys...
Robbe makes a MAN 630 transport, and a MILGL 7t transport, but both are 1 14.5 scale. The 630 is the one seen in the X-Files Season 2, Ep. 1 " Little Green Men " Mulder goes to the Aricebo Antenna at Senator Matheson's urging, and the Blue Beret UFO retrieval team is seen arriving in the 630. The 630 is only a 4x4, and only place I could see a price was Westbourne Model in the UK, at 470 UKP. The MILGL 7t transport is a 6x6, but its pricey: RC4WD has it at $930!
I've also seen various sellers of MAN SX2000 & MAN KAT cabs (they are comparable to the Oshkosh HEMTT) in scales 1/12, 1/14 & 1/16, designed to fit Tamiya, Robbe, and various crawler chassis. These are designed to be used for 6x6 or 8x8 chassis. Lowest price is about $80, and thats a plain cab, no detailing like mirrors, wipers, etc. A full-up detailed one would be about $400, or so I was quoted.
As the other truck site that has the Faun tank transporter, thats probably [link=http://www.sonderfahrzeug-modellbau.de/]Peter Mueller's site[/link] and his stuff is ~gorgeous but pricey as well. My dream-truck is his 1/16 Faun SLT 50-2 'Elefant' transporter w/ trailer, at 2,370 Euro w/ VAT (we in NA dun pay VAT, so write off 19% = still 1,872.30 Euro!)
AFV-Model also has a cab or two, as does Andreas Hafner, whom I bought my upgrade parts for my Panther kit (its advertised as an 8x8, but the kit is an 8x2, depressingly enough!)
Mebbe Tamiya will listen, and give us a 1/16 scale cab... or one of the after-marketers? I'd love a decent Deuce, M35, or HEMTT cab!

RE: RC military trucks
I love to see models like that, and the prices that are being asked. I look around at my stuff and fantasize about what it could all be worth if I could sell it all for a comparable price. As a result of that fantasy, I become a filthy stinking rich kid for a few moments (at least in my mind). In real life I doubt if I could even recover what the materials cost to build my stuff. Oh well......I'm happy being poor and obscure, but I'm rich in the enjoyment and fun this hobby this hobby has been for me.
But I will continue to buy Lottery tickets............

RE: RC military trucks
I'll need a truck to tow the Nebelwerfer around with. Just gotta start with a cab of some sort and go from there.
