Ok, What Gives?

RE: Ok, What Gives?
I never really counted mine until just now. I have seventeen (17) models that are Shermans or use the Tamiya Sherman for a conversion. Dang, I ran out of fingers and had to take off my shoes and socks to come up with that number. In addition, I also have two 1:18 scale 21st Century Shermans, just for the heck of it. I never was nuts about the Sherman, but years ago it was pretty much the only game in town. Basically, I am a Stuart, Chaffee and Walker Bulldog fan, along with any tank that was in WWII.

Joe and company.
I have put my name in for a Mato Sherman to convert to a duplex drive version. At this point I am not positive it will be amphibious, but will at least appear so. Sigh...the voices are quieter now.

Looking forward to that.
I am afraid if you try to float it, you will have about as much luck as the Army did.

It doesn't count below the hard deck. If it don't float, don't build it.
I mean afterall, COME ON!!! Your call sign is Green Amphibian, not it Only Appears So.

Sevoblast, I think you might have implied that I may not be the best choice for a Sherman holic buddy. Wish I could argue. Right now, my workbench, which I cleaned a few days ago, looks like a sherman junkyard....And now that Schumo's new turrets arrived here today, I am worse for wear than before. Please guys...please talk me out of buying one for myself!!! I found myself fondling the pretty box and nearly drooling on it as well....this is not a good sign!
And Herman, I am sure you can make it float! Go for it. I want to see that thing built!

RE: Ok, What Gives?
Speaking of Shermans, I just got my first Mato (minus electronics) from Phil. After looking it over, I have a question. Does
anyone offer a replacement for that godoffel tranny cover or do I have to scratchbuild it? I think someone could make some
serious money offering aftermarket items for just the Mato Sherman.

You could do it! Your past projects prove that!

LOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!! Come on Herman, you know you want it. Not only is the casting beautifully done, but it comes with all those nice, shiny detail parts too! Oh, and did I mention it comes with the mantlet? Oh! It certainly is a sweet addition to any sherman build.
So...think I could have made it as a salesman? LOLOL

Joey, I have the utmost faith in you to guide him through the various stages of withdrawal. I know that with dedication, hard work, and faithful following of the ShermAnon guidelines, you'll...........what am I saying?? I'm talking to a guy who has a Sherman idler wheel on a pendant around his neck! A guy who paints his hands Sherman Green so he can admire the color at work! A guy who....
And for poor Herman, here's a pic. Lets hope Joey doesn't drool on the boxes too much.

Against the $180.00, you can really detail the Tamiya turret up and save a great deal. That is if you're a detailer and a builder. I just don't think there's a ground breaking difference in the two offerings to spend that much money unless you want instant gratification.
The SCHUMO turret is nice though.

LOLOLOL!!! Well, having this turret inmy hands and taking it to the NEAD event today may well prove anyone wrong that thiks it ain't worth the price. This thing has been cast beautifully and comes with all details to make it a very nicely done tank. I will happily waste my money on one when the time comes. Of course, I now have a very broken KT to repair and desperately need some track links for aKV-2...other than that, I am in good shape. []
And Sev, how the hell did you know about the pendant? LOLOL

RE: Ok, What Gives?
Info about the pendant was in the police report when they found you twitching and drooling on the sidewalk when you fell off the wagon at ShermAnon. While you may not remember, that's when they found you sanding off the corners of a Sherm upper hull casting and trying to snort the dust. I won't bring up the Buddha vase, 3 Perry Como records, and the Valencia dancing slippers the cops also made mention of.

Sheesh...I really thought you didn't find out about that. You forgot about CA'ing a set of T-66 tracks to my workboots for better traction...that went over well. Boss called me in his office and said he had a friend that I might need to speak to for an hour a week...never did go talk to him...hmmm...

Is that the cross eyed shrink with the rubber chicken on his desk that he beats himself on the head with every few minutes? He's pretty good, helped me a lot with my addiction.
