Thanks for the response!
I'm using a Radio Shack IR from a prior build. It was suggested as an excellent replacement IR for the Tamiya IR.
**Are you working on any FPV systems to integrate with the Board?
I'm struggling to learn how to revise a sketch for an onboard OS that will provide integrated information including gunner reticle into the video stream back to a hybrid TX/LCD setup. It's challenging...

PS: This is similar to the setup I'm building.

It's the missing piece! View the enemy tank in your gunner scope before you blow them back to the enemy!

The FPV system im working are quite different to this, it's cellular phone based, both control and video are go thought cellular phone, no radio is needed.

Clark

That sounds really interesting! What happens when your phone rings? Sorry - I couldn't resist it. I just finally finished the mechanical part of a long KT build.
Looking forward to seeing your FPV solution!

Clark,

I see that your TK22 will be ready for shipment on the 30th. Is this date still on track?

Cheers,
Wade

Wade,

Right! but there are some backorder need to be fullfilled first, so shipment will be delayed to next week for new order.

Regards,
Clark

I am not sure but perhaps the IR sensor needs to be plugged in. You can replace the IR with a regualr RED LED and check the circuit Two quick things to try would be

Plug in the IR sensor
Reverse the LED leads.

I am a little confused. So you can see the IR light come on and the issue is resolved. If the digital camera shows it is on, it would seem the problem is resolved?

Do you mean you can see the IR light with camera, but no barrel flash?

The IR light from the IR LED is not visible with the naked eye. It will show up in a camera however. The only visible light is the barrel flash from a normal LED.

My IR from the TK20 burned out within the first two battles last month. I bought some of the RS IR's that they carry, installed one and keep checking to make certain it's working.
THe next battle I'll bring my solder gun and spare IR's just in case. I don't know if it was a bad IR.....

Yes that is the balancing act. You want IR range but sometime this comes at expense of the IR LED. The DBCs have a 68 ohm resistor to limit the load placed on them. With this you get about 25 meters. If you remove this resistor you will get 45 meters but I don't know for how long. Typically most battles if you have a range of 25 meters, you are good to go and don't need more.

I am using the TSAL 5100 for emitters now. THey are a high power LED that may be able to handle the higher output. You might want to give these a try Todd, and see if you get longer life out of them. I would be interested in hearing what happens.
