How about setting your backyard like this.....It would be nice to battle on something with a little hill here and there......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6pyvZLNEQQI
That's fantastic! Don't think the rain here on the east coast would be helpful though. Gonna have a couple banked turns, jumps, and woops. Also thinking the track on the outside of the battlefield could
be used as a kind of Autobahn during battles. We'll see.

hey guys, i took a few more pics. acouple more of the shop and one of the first fire to start burning off all the wood we cleared from the battle field/race track. the shop is almost done, we have a few small things to do, so now more time can be put into the battle field/race track. you can see in the back ground of the fire pic, the piles of wood we have to get rid of. come winter time, it'll be nice to warm up by a fire, instead of having to go to the shop. mostly all that is left is to rake up the small sticks and leafs, then get some dirt brought in and start setting things up

Yup, it's getting there. Having a 70ft gum tree taken out today that is in middle of turn 1. Next will be stump grinding, then have a couple loads of dirt brought in to build up
banked turns.

Wade, it will be for whatever you have to put on it! I'll be running anything from a brushless EMaxx to a 1/16 slash, to a 1/10 tamiya dirt thrasher, to a 1/5 dirt bike, to a 1/24 short course.....anything goes.

Some updated pics. Blower fan for the paint booth is completely installed. Added a dimmer switch to have variable speeds. Just pull the chain to open and close the
spring loaded door on the back of the shop to vent. Also a pic from the r/c area. In the foreground is the gum tree just removed for turn 1. You can kinda make out the
2 straight aways that will be coming into the corner from the left and right.

Some pics of the battlefield/track area. Raked up all the leaf mulch and had the stump grinder come in and take 12 out. 10 cu. yards of fill dirt show up tomorrow.

It's about a 4 hour drive for me to get to West grove, but now that I'm getting off my butt and building a battle ready tank (KV-2) I'm sure I can make a little time and run up and battle with you guys from time to time......Wouldn't mind running down to Danville every now and then as well...

It would be great to see you at BOTH battllefields Dirtybird. You should join our NEAD group. We have RC tankers on the DelMarVa peninsula and DC area too. As for Danville, perhaps I could meet up wtih you on 81 on the way down to VA. Don't worry about not having a battle ready tank. You are wlecome to run one of mine if yours is not ready. This has worked so well in getting new tankers into the hobby thet the AAF Tank Museum now has a Sherman M4 that they will rent to you. I hope to see you at Bretts in October. Plan now for the Danville trip. It is a 3 day event on the first weekend in November 2012.

Any updates on a date in October. May need to do a little planning to make the trip to Bret's. Can't wait to see the place.
i haven't gotten anything done on my tanks lately. Been bitten by another hobby bug. Paintball. You think this is exspensize?
Milsim style of playing is very cool. The tactical aspect is very exciting to play.

I hear you on the expense of paintball, I used to play in tournaments. But have to agree, loads of fun. Now I have a few air soft guns, expensive also, $600 for my M4, which happens to be my favorite

Cheers
Wade
