Did Tamiya change the apple to their TBS?
All,
I saw this pic on evil-bay, and its definitely different than the apples I have for my Tamiya system. Did Tamiya change something or is this just a bad pic of the TBS and nothing to worry about?

All the parts look right, but the apple is vastly different!

I suspect that if you took the stack of fins off the TBS that we all know and love, that's what it would look like!

Here is the link to part number 53447 at tamiyausa.

The ebay photo seems deceptive.

There was a thread that mentioned that it's an old photo of the early or prototype version of the current TBU. I don't know if it's a fact or not, but that was the speculation and the photo has been around a while.
Since the baffles are an integral part of the system, either that other one has them on the inside (which would be really hard to pull off considering how it's designed) or a lot of people are going to be upset.
There's no reason why Tamiya would redo the system design unless there was a vast improvement or it had serious flaws, with doesn't seem to be the case with the TBU.

Someone else mentioned perhaps this is the apple off the 1/35 scale tanks????. The IR emitter is different as well. So I am guessing, someone used the wrong picture .
