Default Tiger 1 Half Metal all Mighty Machine

Hey Guys,

I have been building a lot of these tanks lately and just wanted to show the set up. It’s more of the pricey end of our hobby, but this combo is very nice and really considering building one for myself. It is basically an RCTank.de complete upper hull that includes metal, hatch’s metal Machine gun with LED, an all metal turret, with Asiatam recoil, metal barrel, flash & brass muzzle brake. The Asiatam /Taigen metal lower hull and your choice of early or late metal road wheels, Mato metal tracks, drive sprocket & idler wheels it makes for a very solid tank model. I have been installing EL MOD in these, combined that with the my Maxx 480 motors & the new Mato 2.0 3:1 Brass gearbox, and it is full of power & torque. As you can see from the video; notice lately I try to take my videos outside, not on a bench in a room that will amplify the sounds. The sounds are what they are, very crisp, loud and changes with the movement of the tank, just like the real thing. Paint job is coming, it is on its way to our very own RCU member, Yellow shaker can’t wait to see it come alive with his touch.

Phil

What a monster! I love that lower hull it really is beautiful. Are there many major detail changes between the metal & HL turrets? I run HL from the hull up, no recoil, what do you think the weight difference is?

Very nice.

If that is for Yellowshaker, don't get dirty, he loves a clean tank.

Thanks Strato,

I would say the all metal turret has better lines, more defined, ready to paint, and all the mistakes are corrected, and even has the correct mantle eyelets or what ever they are called? I would say the weight of the turret itself has to at lease be 2 lbs.

Pah co chu puk,

Ya, I thought about getting it dirty taking it out for the video..

Jimmy

Here is how the customer wants it to look, with a lot off room for Joe to do his magic!

Looks Great!!! One question. In the video, the sound of the electric motors and gear boxes seem to over power the simulated motor sound. Is that because the gear boxes still need breaking in or is it the volume for the sound?

This is right up Joe's ally. His winter schemes are awesome. Love that motor/gearbox combo too Phil. Great tank.

Hey Maus,

Good question, a little of both, I did not have sound at full maybe about 7 out of 10. I have enough videos of EL MOD that show how loud it can get. The Mato 2.0 3:1 brass gearbox's do need some braking in and this set was particularly tight. On top of that the 480 really crank so even if you dipped the gearbox in motor oil and brake them in to the hilt, you may still hear a slight gear humming sound if you are pushing the 480 to the max.

Phil was extremely proud of this build and planned to build one for himself in the future. He was very excited about having the paintjob done on it and said I had freedom to do a worn winter wash on it. I wanted to make him proud with this one, and I don't thinki will ever be really satisfied, but this is where it is and I hope he is proud of it. The last time we spoke, he told me the Tiger was on the way and asked that i post up some pictures and a video of it when it was completed.I have not taken the video yet due to a little rain here, but I will do so. For now, here are some photos.I hope you guys like it.

I think Phil would agree with me that there may not be a better detail er out there Joe. Now my Tiger I is screaming for a new winter paint job.
Nothing quite like an early winter Tiger IMO. I'll be calling you Joe. LOL.
