FRAG Sept 22 Battleday Pics #1 of 3
Here are a few pictures from our recent battleday. Not so hot for once and no rain.....
The first ones are aerials for an overview:
And some lower level shots:
And finally....our youngest tank commander......James....... who can out drive most of us.

I just love all that fine detail. It is the best. I will battle there with you someday. I've battled in 3 countries and several states but I want to see that field in person. We have great detail at Danville but is gets chewed up too much in the heat of battle.

Let us know when you do come this way, I would cross the Rockies to battle you.
I think it's the best looking RC tank battle field on Earth, and not just cause I'm a Colorado Boy.

Thanks to Paul's tireless efforts, we in Colorado are lucky to have such a fine battlefield. It makes the hobby much more rewarding. Member Dave's video really gives one a feel of what it is like. Driving the battlefield requires a lot of concentration. Then mix in the IR element and you have to stay focused. Fantastic stuff!
I'm James' father and I'm grateful that the FRAG members have welcomed him into the club. I ride herd on him on battle days, but he understands that it is a privilege for him to participate. He looks forward to the monthly battles, and i have a feeling that he will want to continue in the cold even if it is just the two of us!!! We will likely bundle up for at least short periods of time to develop our skills, which will likely be followed up by hot chocolate! Finally, at 7 years old has become a student of history, and it is something we can do together!

Railroad is static.........European scale for WWII......about 5" between the rail....all hand laid track. So any rolling stock or engines would need to be custom built. Lots of work in the 11 years its been there, but it has paid off. Very enjoyable time fighting in a WWII miniature battlefield.......really makes you feel like you are there when it all happened. Thanks, PP
