Default Best Gearbox for HL Pz III

I tried to fit a Mato 2 3:1 greabox into my Pz III but it seems to high (fits my Tiger perfectly). What is the
best 3:1 or 4:1 gearbox for the HLPz III ? And where can I find one ?

The Stug requires a low profile gearbox.

I got mine at RC Command but he is out of business now.  Try Phil at RC Tankwars, if he can't get them try Welsh Dragon or Tank Zone over in the UK.

The Pzr III should take the high profile TUs just fine. But I would strongly recommend the low profile Stug TUs since now you can use a Stug III upper hull atop a Pzr III lower hull. Kind of a master hull that allows two tanks in one. More bang for our buck. Di you modify the upper hull? Are you using a different TU mounting system?

I believe this is the gearbox you are asking for, but it is soldout at this time. From RCtankwars.com

3:1 or 4:1???...for a PZIII ? Seems a bit rediculous as the PIII would be a lot quicker then say a Tiger. Best bet would be to get steel gears in standard ratio. Don't get sucked into this "every tank's gotta have gear reduction" sickeness so many people have. The only reason they(3:1's/4:1's) exist is guys running the "heavy" and "super heavy"tanks(Tiger,kv-2,King tiger, etc)can run amore scale speed..but ifa PzIII that just creeps around the battlefieldis what your looking for..more power to ya(easy meatfor my M26)...

welsh is great if you live in the UK but the pricing is high, I think it has more to do with their taxes than anything.

Most of don't use gear reductions for just scale speed. Mainly to get torque on the last hit while IR battling. A nice 3:1 gear set up with some 6V speed 400's so that motor can scream and
be efficient.
