Default M51 Sherman Cast Upper Hull

I'm gather parts to build my Tamiya M51. I'm looking for a cast upper hull to use to replace the welded version that comes with the kit. I already have all of the Schumo resin parts.

Thanks for any leads.

Mario
I purchased your PDF on the M51 build, I used that as a cross ref when I ordered the Schumo parts. Your work is fantastic.

Hi John
Thanks for your support!
I strongly recommend the hull from Nick, is not easy to work with but you will get an accurate reproduction in the end. Anyway I have a Mato hull if you need something cheap, but I recommend the Nick's one.
With the one from Nick you will have some work as I explain in the article, by the other hand the Mato's is easy to work with but I was not happy with the dimensions, didn't look like the M51 after placed in the hull, but is an option if you don't like resin parts.

Please if you need some advice regarding my article, don’t hesitate ask me, and have in account that I used photoetched holders for the canisters from Archer ( also from Axel modelbaun ) instead the scratch ones I made for the M51, as I show in the M50 article http://www.modelersite.com/PDF_Fotos_27/M50Sherman.htm

Yes you are right Mato works, and yours looks fantastic, a great piece of modelling. However if you want to perspire for a while the Nick's will look better in the end. It also saved me to make oll the cats texture. BUT modelling have many ways to do things and yous worked terrific too.

My A1E8 was built using Nicks hull and turret.

Never regretted it either.

We have a couple of M1's on the go take a look here http://www.rctankregiment.com/rctank...php?f=9&t=3972

nigel also built his M51's using a mato upper http://www.rctankregiment.com/rctank...php?f=9&t=2531

most of the traverse and elevation uses H/long as the Tammy stuff isnt great

Very nice work. I'll contact Nick for a resin top. I'm just starting to add detail to my T34 build. I used a wsn lower hull and added everything else from a trumpeter T34-85 static kit. Tamiya electronics for a KV1. It's fully functional now so on to detailing and finish. I want to start building my M51. Hmmmmm maybe do both at the same time. The work you guys do is inspirational. I appreciate the help

Thanks

John
