New Mato Metal PZIII is out.
Pictures of the New Metal PZIII including torsion bar suspension. I like what I see coming out of Mato. Metal with some nice Mechanical bits as well.
Lets hope there is a stug to follow, and then a M4A3 Sherman, and then Hetzler.........................

RE: New Mato Metal PZIII is out.
Ever since the movie "The Battle of the Bulge", I've always wanted an all metal, unpainted tank. (besides a Tiger I)
I like it being offered without electronics too! I wonder if the museum will carry these?
Now a life long dream has come true!

RE: New Mato Metal PZIII is out.
I can't really make a comparison as I have not seen the Tiagen one. If it is an insert I prefer the all metal. My All metal Tiger is rock solid. This tank with the Torsion bar suspension should be very nice.
I agree with Panther F. Nice to see it with no electronics and the customer can drop in whatever they want. We have a good choice now.
I envison this with a set of those new gearboxes Bob is stocking. What a great tank that would be.
I am holding out for a stug though.

RE: New Mato Metal PZIII is out.
I agree, those boxes would be a good choice for a tank of that weight. I am just curious about the suspension. It appears to be the same as the Asaitam lower hull I used for the Stug build. If so, I am curious to see how well it holds the extra weight on this beast. I do like the look of it.

RE: New Mato Metal PZIII is out.
I think there will be a StuG because Mato is already carrying an selling metal add on parts for the StuG. They did the same thing for the Panzer III before it came out as a complete metal Tank. Did the same for the Tiger I as well. Here are two of the metal add on parts they have for the StuG right now.......
Front hatches on the lower hull. http://www.matomart.com/prodview.php?p=1128
And Radio antenna armored covers. http://www.matomart.com/prodview.php?p=1124
MG Shield. http://www.matomart.com/prodview.php?p=1125
Side Lift hook. http://www.matomart.com/prodview.php?p=1115
"S" Shackle. http://www.matomart.com/prodview.php?p=1131
It would be cool to have an all metal StuG!!!!!

Gee... I'm thinking even bigger now.
Think I'll hold out for a metal Panther or T-34.
Seems the logical thing to do.

I hear you. Both of those would be an automatic purchase for me. However I do want to reward Mato's effort, so I will buy the Stug, because I like those too.

Did you notice the lower hull is not the one we are used to see coming from Asiatam?
This one has the correct rollers position.

Look at the side picture: the mid upper roller is higher than the others, and correctly follows the mudguards (which are not straight).
In both HL's Panzer III and asiatam's lower hulls, the three return rollers are horizontally aligned.
