That's my point too. We're all very familiar with radio inclusion with full option kits for the Japanese market. That's S.O.P. for Tamiya. No one is talking about radios. I'm talking MF units. I haven't ever noticed different MF units listed between Japan and the US though.
So then why is there an image stating differently?
I wasn't talking radios either! Where did I mention that?
I was referring to the image of the MF and T units in the link I supplied... or did you even look at it?
Take another look Jeff.

Gotta agree with Jeff, the engines in the is-2 and kv-1 are both 12 cylinder diesels so the sound difference isn't going to be huge. Those tus are the standard Tamiya have been using on all tanks baring the early sherm and tiger. Impact tus have fully interchangeable componants with Tamiya.

Also, that is a different speaker enclosure shown there than what the KV-! and II used.

Sorry Jeff, but I wasn't replying to your post when I discussed radios. I replied to the previous posts (relative to your most recent post) which opined that kit 56034 would come with a 2.4ghz radio, and that the different model number might reflect a kit that comes with a radio, versus one that does not. Rest assured, I reviewed both the Tamiya USA's webpage (that I posted a link to in my original post) and the Japanese Tamiya site (posted in Bob's post, and repeated in your post) before I posted anything.
In regards to the two websites, I note that the US website text lists the MF-07 for kit #56035, and the Japanese website text appears to list the MF-06 for kit #56034 (and of course, as you have pointed out, it shows a stock picture showing an MF 06 and DMD T-08).
Now that the facts are established, I restate my original issue, which is very limited in scope. Why the apparent difference in MF units between two kits?

I'm still going to believe that it has the KV electronics in it, no matter who says or we read it at.
Tamiya isn't going to pull a dumb mistake like that.

While the tanks sound the same I would imagine the 122mm sounds a little different

I'm sure the long German 75mm and the two different 88s inthe panther tiger and KT sound different but I've never seen a complaint they used the same mf unit!

Yup, can never be completely sure on the correct engine sounds in these "restored" tanks either. Even Littlefield's Panther had to have the engine completely rebuilt from scratch, which I'm sure was as close to factory as possible, butmay stillcausea different purrr.

Tamiya 1/16 JS-2 at Nuremburg 2013 toy fair
some may want to complain about its price
some may want to pick on its details
some may want wait for China copied knock-off's
me....I just want to make myself happy.
After working for years, that is the least I can do....for myself

Typo on Tamiya USA's webpage ? I will put my dime on that.

There's a commercial out that mentions you cannot believe everything you read on the Internet, all because HUMANS entered it.
I also believe Tamiya will use the KV set up and place a larger speaker in the kit... and not put a Sherman sound in a Russian tank. That's something the "other guys" will do AKA the HL TI. Besides... that video sounds like a Russian tank to me!
I was looking forward to being one of the first to get this but since the SU-100 kit is still a possibility, I would just rather have that!

1) it does not look like it has momentum set into it like the kv1
2) on the kv1, you can hear the pin knockers when the tank is going slow....I do not hear them with the is2
3) gun sounds different to me.
I could be wrong though.....

finally a video, thanks for sharing. To bad it seems to be driven by a 5 year old. At least they could have had a little incline for it.

The last day was the 4th. That doesn't mean you won't get yours. It mens you won't get them from the first batch. Maybe just a few days later.

Sound seems pretty generic to my ears. Start up and shut down on these system is OK, but when in motion seem to be the run of the mill drones.
But hey I am out to sell Benedini's so what do I know However if I am still allowed an opinion that is my observation.
