I like it, although I would like to see a WW2 british tank from someone.

I TOTALLY AGREE!

yes that's right YHR but its not what i ment, you see aeromate had bring an almost perfect tiger I out ... there it was an almost perfect tiger 1500 euro that's the price for an almost correct 1/16 tank vehicle !!! If tamiya goes into that detail only a few of us are going to buy that because the price is so high no ordinary rc tanker can afford it ... that also a point of thinking off ... but what the hell why don't scratch the fault's away it up to ones own imagination tob reset them ... let's hope there are only minor defaults onto it the new kit but the foto's are impressive let's hope

I'm not so sure either is correct after looking at a few JS workarounds.

Those Shermans are 1/35th. Sorry.

~ Jeff

I have to admit I know little about the JS2 right now, but by the time I get finished building one I will know what is and isn't right. It won't be enough to stop me from buying it, and I am guessing there are a lot of guys like me. It looks like a nicely rendered kit. I hope people who know what the inaccuracies are aren't shy about posting them, to help guys build a more accurate version.

Re Shermans

They look bigger then 1/35 scale, but because there is no fanfare you could be right.

Karel47

I think pointing out an inaccuracy is not complaining. I like to know these things as it helps me when I go to build one. So once this gets released I am hoping guys point out what might be wrong with it.

I like it, looks good and will get one! (even though I am secretly holding out for a STUG IV)

I understand - but I have the voice only and black screen...
any plugins , codecs are needed?

But I hear the old KV-1 sound unit (2008 ?) - does it mean that the new IS-2 will be equipped with the same sound module as KV-1 ?

If it is true I will be very dissapointed ...

the JS 2 looks awesome, i want one too !!!

Guy's you don't listen ... if tamiya brings out a very scaled tank you probely couldn't pay it anyway !!!

Consider aeromate a up to scale Tiger I and Full Metal one , wich of you had bought one ? Right not many so stop complaining ... and be thankfull for what they bring out ... it cost millions to make the molds ... in 1/16 scale i say tamiya is as close to yhe scale for the price as it can be

If you want to change it be free , let us enjoy your scratchtalents if you can do better ... its just a bunch of kits here, i want this ... i want that ... its an economical crisis around he globe be thankfull they take risks with no real outcomes on the salesnumbers ... its a huge risk for them too

sorry for my boltness i think most of you agree with me though also ... please stop complaining ... its suppose to fun rc tanking [img][/img]
I totally agreed with karel47.
Tamiya invested tonnes of $$$ into new models, while others just sit comfortably and copied it.
Remember, it was Tamiya that started 1/16 RC tank with battling capabilities (and good sound)
From another angle, it won't be competition that may kill Tamiya, but the consumers. If that happens, consumers will be stuck with low quality "TOYS" and not model kits

This is what separates the men from the boys.

Men want authentic operating projects that perform while boys will be happy with a poor facsimile.

Or the people who can afford tamiya tanks vs those who can't.

Thanks for info - but on this recording this IS-2 engine sounds like Tamiya KV-1 ? - unfortunately now both films are set as "private"
Maybe the MF-07 is not ready yet and they installed sound from KV-1 for this show (MF-06) ?

Back in May of 2008 I sent Mr. Shunsaku Tamiya the results of a poll of RC Armor Forum tankers. Even though he was supposed to be "retired" and his adopted son running the show, I'm sure he still had some say in things, so we gave it a shot. 185 guys participated. It was broken down by nationality so you will see the top four choices below. At that time the Panzer IV had been released and we had the Pershing and Panther, too. Even though I got a nice reply, I have no idea how much the letter influenced Tamiya Inc. After all, anyone with any knowledge of tanks would come up with similar answers. I'd like to think that I made a difference since I've been "pestering" him for 20 years, sometimes in person. I would have to check the archives to be sure, but I think it was in 2005 after the Panther was released I told him at TamiyaCon that the troops were asking for the Panzer IV. He said "No Abrams?" Selfishly I said to skip the Abrams for now since we are all about WW II. Actually my foremost request was the VVSS Sherman, but that has yet to happen. You can try to blame me for no Abrams, but methinks the Tamiya bean counters run the show, not Rich Upton. Here are the results of that 2008 survey. Notice the JS-2:

American Tanks received 31% of the vote; British 31%; Russian 25% and German tanks 13%

WW II:

VVSS Sherman
Cromwell
JS II
Elefant

Post-war:

M1A2 Abrams with 45% of vote
T-72 with 20%
Centurion with 15%
Challenger II with 10%
All other: 10%

Given we have answers to the Elefant and VVSS Sherman, even if not Tamiya-made, I should think that the Cromwell would be next after this JS-2. Forget whatever impact my poll may have had, it just makes sense at this point to have an English tank. Whatever we get from the House of Tamiya, bow deeply and be content that they still are releasing 1/16 product in this era of recession. Now if they would only offer them at more reasonable prices and/or update the old electronics into smaller packages.

So my point is that it could be helpful to let them know our desires on a regular basis. Wouldn't hurt. Maybe if they are smart they already have someone following these threads.
