Very nice work on the diorama. Attention to detail is "King" here and as a self confessed 'rookie' you are certainly on your way to becoming an expert in no time.

Maybe a separate thread will get more replies?

Just remember to use the sand bags realistically The sites selling them are usually trying to get us to buy loads of them. Their pix and use of the sandbags are way out of scale, fake and unreal or would fall off a real tank after 30 feet. Do your research and make it look realistic and authentic. Those sandbags on that M4 are way too big and were never placed helter skelter like that IMHO.

There is also examples of sandbags being used to the extreme....

Bob, right on on the use/placement of sand bags. Don't know who did that ad, but is is out of scale and placement is totally wrong. I have used a lot of Build-A-Rama stuff and it's good material, buit have never used the sand bags.

I have seen so many attempts at sandbag use that it seems that no one is referring to photos but just laying them where "it looks cool". Sandbags on fenders, across hatches and blocking turret traverse just looks so rediculous and using them on Pershings or Bulldogs (and George Patton's tanks) is simply wrong.
