    RE: Hobby Engine Abrams Re-build

IS there any magic on that tuned port? I.e critcal size or diameter based on speaker size?

    RE: Hobby Engine Abrams Re-build

There are some guidelines on making a box, but due to this tiny frequency range, just porting any box will do.

Once you start adding some power to the speaker is when THAT dimension will come into play.

That is some interesting reading.............For the size of speakers we are talking about though, I agree, probably just port the thing and see what it sounds like.

    RE: Hobby Engine Abrams Re-build

I need to add a "box" to my T34 tank I built a few years ago. I replaced the WSN speaker with a small one from the group I battle with and it's lacking a bit in sound depth.

But, it still has the Tamiya Sherman electronics in it so maybe it's okay to sound that way?

    RE: Hobby Engine Abrams Re-build

ANYTHING will be an improvement... just don't go too big on the tube size as that will kill the bass.
