British Mark IV Male
I'd like to scratch build a Mark IV in 1/12 scale which puts it at 32.5" long. I'm a total noob when it comes to this. Where can I purchase running gear. I can make most stuff but treads and motors and controllers... oh my! Thanks for input.

Hey! Great idea! Feel free to take a look at the wacky and crazy ongoings I went through to build my Mk VIII-ish [link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_11297602/tm.htm]HERE![/link]
I bought a HL Panzer 3 from eBay for about $100, used all its internals and tracks and wheels, ordered some extra parts, and voila, WW1 tank!

For track you may wish to look into some of the scale bulldozer type track however at the scale you're working with anything close may prove pricey
Not impossible mind, just potentially pricy.
Look for track product of the firm Leimbach - http://www.leimbach-modellbau.de/start.html
Sounds like a worthy project.

Strato50- great VIII! That's a great idea to build around a pre-existing chassis! That seems the best way to go for a beginning tanker builder like me. I love the WWI stuff.
Tanque- nice website... thanks for responding so soon, also!
