Default Desert Leopard Build Photos

My latest Tamiya 1/16 scale infrared fighting rc tank build; Danish Army Afgan Deployed "Desert Leopard" Main Battle Tank; 9 months to build; 1,135 parts, main gun stabilization with the tank battery relocated to the hull.

Daryl Turner customized Tamiya's Flagship RC tank model kit's hull; relocated the battery from the turret; metal braced the hull and created a clam shell deck lift system for accessing the battery. The potential for turret base sagging & catching on the rear deck; under the 7.2v battery weight; is no longer an issue.

I built and painted the kit following the custom work. The model is designed to be relatively easy to service and maintain. A Danish Army ISAF Afgan Deployed "Desert Leopard" Main Battle Tank was referenced for the camouflage treatment.

Build Features:
• Tamiya Battle Unit.
• Tamiya Stabilization Unit.
• Tamiya detailed main gun metal barrel.
• Two finished Tamiya Leopard crew figures.
• Painted with Tamiya Paint and sealed with Testor's Dullcote

Daryl Turner, Impact & AFV custom parts & features:
• Battery relocated to the hull.
• Custom built metal hull + idler bracing.
• Custom battery metal tray + hull brace.
• Gearbox mounted deck lifting hinge for easy tank battery access.
• Impact metal suspension arms.
• Impact road wheel bearings.
• Impact metal idler assembly.
• AFV metal turret baskets.
• AFV small metal handles.
• Hinged rear turret access panel for the DMD On/Off Switch.
• Clean turret wiring.
• New Futaba SkySport FM RC Radio Transmitter (with left self-centering stick option); Receiver and Tank Battery.

Great looking tank! Both your and Daryl's work look fantastic. Any performance difference with all that aluminum in the lower hull? Where's the speaker hidden?

Default April 12, 2013, Easy8 model fraud exposed!

My Leopard, not yours, LOL

At rcu tanks, so, I was doing some model research and on page 14 I found this. Amazing, do not think I ever posted my Leo 2 build here and for sure do not know the joker Easy8! I assembled and painted this collaboration build with Daryl Turner. And still got the tank too!
And, above, pretty poor presentation. Probably Tom doing some hacking? LOL. Probably lifted from another rc tank forum?

Wow John, are you saying this is a case of tank inanity theft?

I had to look up inanity, that word is a word and works too! LOL.

Rich, And my Facebook pages go down sometimes, as not accessible or I cannot upload photos, so I was probably hacked. I think I posted the Leo 2 build on Axels’ Forum way back when, but that forum is long gone. No matter, just a form of weirdness. LOL.
