Figure source help needed
Hey guys,
I need a seated german driver figure for my Asiatam Famo and maybe a few suitable crew members as well. The only thing close I could find was Xions Kubelwagen driver.
Any of you guys know of any other seated driver figures?
Thanks

Hi Rob,
try the Figures from 21st Century toys. I have some of them driving my Tiger.
Looks not to bad.
They are fully flexible.
You can find them in ebay or at Foxhole toys.

Let me see....
There is Tamiya's Kubel driver (FYI he fits best in the RC car w/o his feet...LOL).
Verlinden has a Kubelwagen crew of two figures.
There are numerous 1/18 figures that can also be used. The detail is not as good, but they can be customized.
Check how much room you have before you buy any. Size varies with all of them.
Ugh....can't load any pix... again. Sorry

Birger - Thanks for the info on the figures, your tiger looks really good. Did you modify those figures?
Thanks thecommander, I'll probably go with the Verlinden Kubelwagen crew to start out with. Room is one thing I have a lot of with that thing so I'm not too concerned with having to remove feet.

I don't have the elephant. Just got the Famo and overall I'm pretty happy with it. I haven't tested the gearboxes or really taken it apart yet.
They do seem to have a few casting imperfections and flaws here and there, nothing bad or that can't be filled with putty. The seat texture doesn't look very good so I'll be changing that.
I think they should have added more detail bits like a folding top and a few other things, but it looks like they made a few improvements over earlier releases of the Famo.
It's pretty big and heavy and will be impressive once I get it painted and running, and although being all metal adds to the impressive effect, it could have
been mostly plastic and I still would have been happy with it. I just wanted a Famo.

Hi Rob,
they are "out of the box". I just positioned the hintches and fixed them with glue. Than I prepared the figures with magnets to position and hold them on to the tank. Thats it. They are fully flexible. So you can position them as you want to.

I still think the 18th scale figures fit these tanks better than the 120mm or 16th scale ones I have seen. Maybe by the time you get down to a figure the difference in scale is not that noticeable.
