Default Tamiya/Sturmtiger electrical connector help

Guys,

I was wondering if any of you know where I could score those connectors Tamiya uses for the MF unit. In particular I need the two pin plugs for the elevation and traverse. On a side note, on my Sturmtiger I am attempting to use the Mottoro elevation and traverse motors/assembly with my Tamiya MF unit. Is this a viable option?

Thanks!

I set mine up like this:

Not pretty but works. I have yet to install the blue gear but will get around to it.

I bet Jeff489 would know about the connectors.

I was thinking of going that route myself, but I am all about easy and using the factory barrel assembly seems like the way to go if I can get it to interface with my Mf unit.

Cruiser,

They are called JST 2-pin connectors, just Google JST connector and you will find them in many places, like EvilBay for example.

Not familiar with the Torro elevation/traverse, but if they use a simple 2 pole motor set up they should work with the tammy MF. Just think of the MF as a proportional speed control
for the motor. You may have to mess with servo reverse on your TX to get the direction you want or switch the +/- wires on the motor.

The Mato elevation/traverse unit on a Sturmtiger works with Tamiya MF Units if you change out the plugs on the elevation/traverse unit to JST plug. Then it plugs right in. It works fine, I've done it. Just cut the Mato molex style plugs off, and solder on a JST connector for the elevation, and one for the traverse. JST plugs are available at most hobby shops.

Ah, no. Mine is a Tamiya/Imperial Models project I finished in 2006.

I still want to get another Sturmtiger though!
