Default Sherman Idlers???

I have been working on a set of idlers for the Sherman made of aluminum and machined on a lathe. Completed they will be fit with bearings and ready to install on a Tamiya sherman tensioner with a little work. Cut off the existing axle and drill a hole to thead in a 4mm bolt. Any thoughts? Like/hate?

LOVE the idea! I have been frustrated by the lack of metal idlers for a VVSS Sherman. (Even those Mato replacements, becauase of the 12-spoke faces). I've used stock plastic idlers and JB Weld-ed bearings into them, but I'd still rather have metal to begin with. I remember seeing Green Amphibian do what you said and motify the Tamiya mounts to take a 4mm bolt. If you're going to produce these wheels to sell; please put me down for three sets. -Mike

I am trying to gauge interest at this pooint. The first set are going to be sent out for testing to make sure all is well. I believe they will work very well, but as I stated, the mounts will need to be modified for them. This may turn some guys off to the idea.

I am not sure on price yet, and I have no idea if they will fit the HL. I made them for adding the masto suspension to a Tamiya hull so that you would have a working tensioner with a nice idler wheel complete with bearings.

Nicely done! Perhaps a pic or two on the installation process?

Well, they are boxed and being shipped to Buckeye tomorrow to test fit. I do not have the parts here for final assembly, so he said he would test them for me.
