Improving the Heng long gun recoil gear
Few weeks ago I got a Heng Long Sherman, the IR version with gun recoil.
As many of you know is a cheap mechanism that recoil the barrel quickly and the release it like a jump, all less realistic.
I read few ways to improve it but non of them liked, so I disassembled the thing and found that the plastic piston had a lof of grease/oil. Obviously this makes the mechanism work fast and furious... what's we don't want.
I cleaned very well all the grease in the piston guidelines and applied the FRICTION DAMPER GREASE, a high viscosity grease that is used in the 4x4 Tamiya trucks and many old Cassete recorders, to get the smooth door opening function.

The result was terrific, the gun retract 50% slow or better and then returns very slowly to their position, the motor noise is the only thing let us know we are looking the HL recoil gear.
I will upload a video as soon as I can.
