Default Can-AM Battleday : Sunday Sept 22 - Videos!

Hey guys, we have a few members rolling around with video cameras on their tanks & I invite them to post here. This is the video I recorded of one of our battles!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VidDNo76KOc Notice the happy mingling of Tamiya, Heng Long, Clark, DBC and SLU systems

Thanks Dan, that's nice to hear! There has been a lot of hard work and personal time put into the field and everyone here really appreciates the effort, we make a point to make a point about it.

I'm posting these videos for another member (Tom) who brought his own purpose built camera-tank. Better quality than my HobbyKing camera, and no shake!

Great field you got there! Something us in the uk can aspire to. Out of interest who's is that leopard 1, and what electronics/battle unit is it rocking?

The Leopard 1 would be mine!

I bought it from Fireman Tim, it has a SLU with special ordered Leopard sounds and plays "Maple Leaf Forever". Not sure what gearbox are in it other than that they are stock metal HL with 400 motors. I would to upgrade them in the future though. For now it drives nice and is quite zippy.

Hehe I read that a few times and was thinking to myself "what the heck is he talking about, you can't adjust the apple LED settings on an SLU..."

Then it occurred to me you're one of those old-world fellas that means turn-signal when he says indicator...

Thank you all for your comments I'll make sure the field digging guys know about it!

Awesome job with the fpv camera! This is where I think this hobby should move to for tank battles. Much more challenging to spot other tanks and you can actually use camouflage.

Just need to pick a band that has enough channels though! With 5.8Ghz we have eight as I recall which isn't a bad number. The transmitters are small and so are the antennas so easy to mount.

Add the onscreen OSD that gives you hit indications, damage indications, ammo remaining, fuel, etc... And you could really make an awesome game!

Cheers

Well this particular camera just records to an SD card, no transmitting or FPV functions from it. It's interesting to try stuff like that, the problem SO FAR being it's usually expensive to get it up and running, and not everyone in a club will want to do it.

New video from last Sunday, enjoy
