Default Panther metal hull is here!

I was a bit confused that there was no thread here.... anyway!

Dom @ rctank.de has had this on his website since Sept 26! Looks awsome to me. They also have new roadwheel sets with bearings. Not sure who makes these but we can find out easy enough.

Looks to me you can build a crate with the same high quality as the asiatam KV hulls, and I know first hand how tough & fast those are!

http://www.rctank.de/product_info.php?products_id=2112 - Wheels w/ bearings

http://www.rctank.de/product_info.ph...oducts_id=2116 - sprockets & idlers

All new stuff

Looks like when you bug someone enough, it happens! Hehheh :P

That looks awesome! They even fixed the bow angle. It looks like Asiatam's work, but I don't see it on their webpage. The downside is that the angle for the G and the A are different. So, with this hull you have to do either a G or a F.

Here's your Panther G sprockets and idlers: http://www.rctank.de/product_info.ph...roducts_id=781

I wonder if this part would work on it: http://www.rctank.de/product_info.ph...oducts_id=1030

I'm pretty sure they're the asiatam wheels, least the asiatams look like that and have bearings!

The G version idlers don't specifically SAY if they have bearings, but they're the exact some price as the A version, and they LOOK like they have them... I guess we can find out :P

I'll be building a G as soon as I have the energy... So many wish-list projects!!

I hear ya. Big challenge...how to back-date it to an early G...without the mantlet chin or the crew heater on the rear deck and with the simpler exhausts. Everything else seems pretty easy, but those look like major surgery or aftermarket parts.

No they will not fit, this chassis is meant to be used with Asiatam wheels and axels, which are shown in one of the links in the first post.

Updates!

Dom from Rctank.de gave me the go-ahead. He tells me that they in fact had the hull developed for themselves and a few vendors independently, so this is an rctanke.de hull! It'll be available through other vendors but they are the originators.

Also the G version of the idlers do in fact have bearings as well, that is being updated.

Also, panther G upper hulls are coming separately, just not immediately.

I hope it's an early G upper hull. It looks easier to turn the early into a late production rather than trying to back-date a late production.

Good info! Thanks for asking.

I really don't know but I'm just assuming it'll be the stock Heng Long upper hull. I've never put together a Panther so I'm unsure what that even is

I only asked about the upper because I like to put these tanks together with as many parts as possible from one dealer, without any leftovers as you would get from cannibalizing a donor tank.

That's pretty darn awesome! I like the placement of the switches and idea of the charging jack. This is a very late lower hull given the exhausts. So, I'm guessing that the upper will also be a late production, just like Heng Long.

Cool! So, how much of the stuff on the rear is molded in place? And, how much is assembled? The idea is that someone could remove some of it easily for better detailing...stuff like the exhausts, convoy light, towing hitch, etc.

Looks there are some gaps between the plastic and the metal hull that will have to be filled.

I got mine from Carson at DKLM and it took about 10 days to get here. Shipping is a little much, $50 for just the hull, but that's not really the fault of the vendor, shipping is high anywhere ya go these days.

EDIT: And the hulls at DKLM come with the asiatam metal roadwheels, which I think makes it an exceptional value. I've seen those roadwheels listed for $144 and the complete hull with roadwheels from DKLM is only about $170. That's why I bought the hull, I wanted metal roadwheels but when I saw I could get the entire hull for less than $30 more I couldn't pass it up.
