DON'T MISS THE FALL BATTLE WEEKEND AT DANVILLE VA AAF TANK MUS. NOV 8TH-10,2013
I'll even offer you a money back guarantee!
Once again this November NEAD will have the honor of hosting the three-day battle weekend at the AAF tank Museum in Danville Virginia on November 8[SUP]th[/SUP] thru the 10[SUP]th[/SUP], 2013. In years past we’ve had over 45 tankers and the hundred and 150 RC tanks attend this fall event. For those who have never been to a Danville battle weekend before you’re missing outon a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity if you don’t come to this event. Danville is the largest and most detailed RC tank battlefield in the world. The fact that it is indoors keep you protected year-round and also enables us to control the lighting. For those of you of never had night battles with your infrared tanks you’re really missing out on something spectacular. I invite anyone on RCU, regardless of any club affiliation, to attend Danville. If any of you come there and can look me in the face and tell me that you did not have a good time with your battle tank at Danville battlefield, I will reimburse you for your entrance fee for the day.
Please don’t worry if you don’t have an IR battle tank ready. Come there and ask for me. I’ll loan you one a mine try on the field. The tank Museum also has a Sherman M4 that they rent out by the hour or for the day. The group of guys that run at Danville are such a great and generous bunch. We want everybody who comes there to have a fantastic time. The guys will go to the ends of the earth to ensure that you to have as much fun as we are having. Don’t be worried if you’re a rookie because we give rookies mentoring, advice, preferred treatment , a head start in battles , first choice of the best and most advantageous positions. I will pair you up with veteran tankers in the major battles. We will always be there to assist you in any way to make sure you have a great time. In all my years attending I have never had anyone tell me that they did not have fun. The one thing I’ve heard from everyone is that they truly regret having put off coming to Danville for so long. They each regretted having postponing the trip. DON"T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU!
Wherever you’re coming from, and by whatever means of travel, we can assist you in finding transportation and accommodation at Danville. Train, bus, airplane, car…. whatever it is, NEAD is committed to assisting you in making your trip a success. Hotel rooms in the area are very inexpensive. The Comfort Inn costs about $70 a night and the Innkeeper North runs about $40 a night. The area is saturated and good and inexpensive restaurants. Danville gas for prices are amongst the cheapest in the country. Even if you are traveling alone, we never have any trouble in finding a roommate to split a hotel room and share the costs. If you coming by train or airplane there’s no need to even Rent-A-Car. We could probably pick you up at the airport in Greensboro which is only 55 milesaway. Most of us travel to lunch, dinner and to and from the hotels together anyway. Friday events usually start after lunch and go until about 9 PM.Saturday we start early usually 7:30 and go until 10 PM. Sunday we start at 9AM and usually go until about 3 or 4 PM.
For over 10 years numerous volunteers have labored intensely at making the Danville indoor tank battlefield the best in the world. Come experience this for yourself. This venue, like so many others could disappear tomorrow. The Gasser family at the AAF tank Museum goes above and beyond the call of duty every time to make sure we have the best battlefield they canpossibly provide. Volunteers ,mainly from the HEAT armor club, have been invaluable in keeping it in top condition. Come see this for yourself because you will really be kicking yourself in the arse if you failed to come to this Museum at least once in your lifetime. Venues like this are disappearing fast so DO NOT miss the fantastic opportunity to come see this Museum and to play in the RC tank battlefield it provides. I have heard time and time again from guests to Danville that they truly regret having waited so long to come there.
Many members, like Mike from Georgia, have already provided pictures of what they are bringing to Danville. Bring whatever you want to run, car, truck, helicopter. The only thing we can't do is fly airplanes or drive boats. Even if your tank is not battlefield ready, feel free to bring it and show it to us. Our club will have some nice door prizes and we will be hosting for the first time a 1/16 RC tank and military model contest. Prizes will be awarded for: best RC IR battle tank, best non IR tank (RC or static), best scale military model (non tank) and the best soldier figure. We will be liberal with the model scales as anything from 120 mm, 1/15 thru 1/18scale will be acceptable. Bring your best and leave with a prize.
Please remember do not hesitate to contact me if you haveany questions regarding this event.

WOW
SEAD will be well represented. Too bad Will (although he is a New Yorker now) can't make this one. I miss him. He is back stateside now and I just finished a custom radio for him.
I can't wait to see your RC 38T Mike ( I am bringing mine too... but it's only a static ), Marty's Russian head-wear & Joe's JP. What is Cochran bringing? Post some pix please.

Thanks for the list Dave...I appreciate your help pal.
I'm sure we have over 20 as of right now and believe that it will wind up being 35 or more.
Sound off folks if you are coming and not already on the attendance list.

A few more videos from some other RC tankers....
If a picture is worth a thousand words ....a good video must be worth a million.

Started looking at calendar. There's too much going on. I have to be in Fredericksburg to work with a convention that Monday. That's almost 5 hours away. I've gotta back off the back to back road time.

Bob, I am bringing 4 tanks. Three have gone through several inspections each at the Danville museum. One tank has never been inspected before. Will I have to waste everyone's time getting each tank inspected, or would it make better sense to inspect only the tank that has never been inspected. All of my "apples" are configured for TFA battling.

This has been advertised a TFA event for some time now. Just to let you know Cochran, Marty and I glued our apples in the TFA only configuration. I hope we don't bog down the battles with complicated scenarios. What Dave ran and what I call elimination battles sure was fun and added competition but without any complex huddles prior to battle.

what is it with you guys fighting so hard against the originals style of battling ?
can't we do both ?
this regular battling has gotten way to lame .
During the June event we did some of the good old stuff from way back then which did put a lot of cool action back in to battling .
Let's be open minded and try to do both ...
we gone have plenty of people there , plenty of battles ,
and we NEVER have / had everyone at the same time on the battlefield ,
so I don't see no problem here
