Wink Just meat & Potatoes.....

Well finally got off my butt and finished my battle ready Sherman. Nothin fancy, HL Sherman,Walterson gearboxes,servo recoil,Tk-22(Sherman), Visaton speaker,Tamiya Battle apple, and of course....metal tracks/idlers/sprockets(HL)....Now to start on my Panther F...

Forgot to post this...something I've started to do to all my armor just so my transmitters wont get lost in the crowd...lol..

They all look great. Now bring them to Danville and show us how they run. Love the transmitters....If only I had the time.

Looks good. So, how do the Waltersons boxes compare to Asiatam/Taigen's brass boxes and the Mato 2.0 brass boxes?

Personally I think they are the same exact thing with the exception that there's obviously more quality control with the Waltersons(Much, much better then Mato's), plus you get the different gear ratios. I 've never owned the Taigen/Asiatam style but have never cared for how the motors are layed out(end-to-end) as it just makes custom installs all the more difficult. Plus I've seen a lot of quality issues with those as well(but not as bad as Mato's). The most noticeable difference is the smoothness of the motors, especially at slow speeds. I know Waltersons went with a higher quality motors(5 poles as opposed to 3 pole motors on Asiatam/Taigen/and Mato) with their gearboxes..Definitely my new favorite drive train....
