Red face A question for the tank guys

I see now and again threads on the tanks. I often read about you guys talking about battling and even saw a thread of someone who had created a model town to battle in. Here is the silly question. Do you actually shoot projectiles at each other's tank from your own tank or is this simulated? I find it fascinating either way!

I'm probably the least qualified on this site to answer you but both options exist. Some tanks shoot airsoft pellets and others shot IR. I think its a "pick-your-poison" option. Personally, I am going to upgrade my recent purchases to IR so I can take part in the local NEAD organization events which are IR battles.

The tanks battle each other laser-tag style, except they shoot infra-red beams instead of lasers.

That is so cool. Do the tanks get disabled in some fashion?

Yes, they get immobilized for about thirty seconds, then they are revived. In most organized games, tanks get only one life and are turned off on destruction.

As tanks are hit by the IR, the performance of the tank degrades until it is killed. The tanks can be set for different modes, depending on the type of tank that it is. Light = 3 hits to destroy, medium = 6, heavy = 9.

As answered above there are two types, Air soft that shoot bb,s and the IR, the ir consist of each tank or vehicle to have and shoot an ir beam, and have an apple or battle unit that indicates a hit.
there are three classes Heavy Medium and Light. a heavy will be able to shoot every 9 seconds. when a heavy gets hit the engine has a different sound an the tank will loose speed and will continue to loose speed until it will no longer be able to move after it's 9th hit.
A medium will shoot every 5 seconds slow down after it first etc.and die after 5 shoots.
And last is the light tank ,it will fire every 3 seconds, slow down after it's 1st hit and die after it's third. when the tank take there final hit the apple that has 4 led lights will flash continusley, shut down then re start after 30 seconds.all other hits the lights will flash once. Air soft shoots BB's at each other.

On top of all that, most folks who battle IR tanks belong to some sort of club, hence those villages you speak of It's a ton of fun battling your way down a scale street and over bridges, across rivers, etc. Most clubs have some sort of website you can check out to see pictures and videos of their tanks and battlefields!

Don't forget paintball tanks - granted its a small niche, but one that's been around for quite some time.
