Default Tamiya Leo 1A4 and Gepard

One thing that has always bothered me is that Tamiya included Pershing track on the Leo 1A 4. So when my Mato Leo tracks showed up I was hoping they would fit, but the answer is no. You would have to get the Leo 2 drive wheels as well

Cheers

Default Tamiya Leo 1A & Gepard Pershing kit tracks

Agree.

Tamiya Leo 1 needs an accurate after market track set, but not metal ones that weight a ton. I used the Kenny Hong metal - rubber pad tracks for the shelf queen Tamiya NATO Leo 1A4. They look good; are easy to work with and run without issue. The "fail" is that those tracks are super heavy and I think degrade overall outdoor running performance for say an infrared tank. My Tamiya Battle Unit Leo 1A4 and the Gephard (kinda a shelf queen) builds use the Pershing kit tracks and run good. The minor irritation of glancing at the "Pershing tracks on a Leopard 1" is forgotten quickly while running various backyard terrain. To bad the Tamiya Leo 2 kit tracks are not easily adaptable for the Leo 1, they work great and seem pretty durable.

Merry Christmas, John
