Mato displays new Mato Armor in Germany.
Mato released some new Metal tanks for the 1/16 market and has them on display at the German Toy fair.
I was also told they will be adopting bearings in the wheels of all their new releases.

Major props to Mato for doing something different, even though it is related to the M4 Sherman - this is what I hoped to see. All of a sudden the Allies get a huge injection of armor choices. Long overdue, but better late than never. Those German tanks better watch out, there'll be US TDs on the way!

These are all metal and will be in the $500-600 range. It is nice to actually see something new. I Think Mato want to produce a very good quality all metal tank and have it priced less then Tamiya. Soon their releases will all have wheel bearings. I see each and every Mato release get better then the last one, and as I mentioned in another thread I am thankful for these guys for sharing our passion, as I really don't think there is a lot of money In this for them, and their margins and return are much better on RC cars and quad copters.. They just have a personal interest in armor, and lucky for us they do.

I believe the Sherman will be released very soon, then the Wolverine, then the Jackson. I haven't touched these, I have just seen pictures so I am not sure what the track tensioners are like. I have never had many issues with my Shermans, even with the fixed idlers.
I like the low bustle 75mm turret on the Sherman. It should be available as a part, for project Shermans.
There may be a German tank release thrown in between these Allied TD.
I don't think Mato are done with Plastic tanks, but I think they wanted to establish the brand with these all metal tanks.

Well done to Mato! Nice to see all metal tanks appearing in numbers.
Makes me think of the toy trains and trucks you see on Antiques Roadshow....made of metal and last for decades.
A positive development indeed!

Do the M10 and M36 share the same chassis? Historically I don't know! Suppose that's worth a Google search. Hoping these are compatible with the M4A1 parts already released.
Brass mato gearboxes I'd guess, any hints yet?

I am not sure what level of detail is in the open turrets. Not sure how much of an issue adding styrene details inside the metal turret would be. As long as you don't have to remove any material, I don't see the metal being much of a hindrance in this regard?

Wow, this is an interesting turn of events
props to mato for making some new vehicles. All metal is out of my price range, but it will be nice still to see others using them. The more variety, the better.
