Status report:
It has been a rough winter in my part of the Rockies. I am changing station and have been without wifi for some time. I hope to get wifi at the new station tomorrow. The tanks have all been mobilized to the new lagers but the shop is still in transit. No new tank projects have been started and the Sherman conversion is on hold pending parts and the shops arrival.
I hear our Black Sea assets (ETO) are on standby alert. My blessings go out to them and their families.
I also must admit that I have strayed from the straight and narrow path of RC tanks… I bought a RCquad copter (Heli-max 1si). It has a video camera and I’m learning to fly. And crash. I have been filming the Leo driving with the quad in the air (all this by my self) and have yet to crash the quad into the tank. I did crash right in front of it once and before I could grab the Leo controls it ran over the quad. What fun!
Now it is crashed real good, it fell from 200 ft. and needs a new body, but it still flies. The new body will be painted in camo so it can pose as a 1/16[SUP]th[/SUP] scale aerial camera drone with modern tanks in future movies. Every modern army needs a drone, right?
I’m also excited to check in and see a HL Abrams on the horizon. I want two. Or three.
Here are some pictures of the first tank into Tankland aftera long winter. It wasn’t pretty when the Leo finally broke through the drifts and relieved the frozen garrison. Also a top secret photo of the drone before the crash.

Lots of little cut outs in blue masking tape. Many, many painting events.
Here is a movie I made with the quad copter. It has tanks in it... but mostly just flying.

Yes, those are turkey tracks by the stug.
The small cabin with the digi camo roof is mine, go figure, and the log cabin is a place I care take for out of state owners.
I was attempting to fly over the stop sign, but the batteries were getting too low so I could not get enough lift. It still flies just fine.
