I know it Bob, problem is, our tickets are now solidified for the 26th departure from Chicago. With the acceptation of 2 brothers, all my family are in the Chicago/Northern IN area so we're figuring on going up the 20th or 21st. AWFUL lot to try to squeeze into the week before leaving. My tamiya has already been packed and sent. So all I have to bring would be my halftrack. I'd dearly like to make it, photos/video if nothing else of EVERYTHING.
Not saying we won't make it but no way I can say yes we will.

I didn't know you were tied up this time Brett. We will miss you buddy. How about the WW II Weekend at Reading in early June? Can you post a pic of your Tiger with that muzzle flash shot? Thanks

We buy sell and trade a lot at these events men. Please bring anything that you want to sell and your wallet too. Many tanks change hands at Danville.
I still think that Danny has the record highest value tank sold there.. A $2,500 for a KILLER T-34 Daryl Turner custom.
The Flea Market Tables clear out fast. Many guys come Friday just to get a jump on the best deals.
Doug sold a nice complete Tiger I a little while back for $375. Troy got a great deal and he still runs it each battle weekend. I sold it to Herman ( It was his first tank). He sold it to Doug. Doug sold it to Troy.....who is next?
Anyone want a Sherman?....We have a few to choose from.

Talk about extremes. We'll need to do a side by side photo.
Can't wait to get Mikes boxes. I'll buy you lunch if they come thru in fine order pal.

mark my words one day i will drive there. i looked it up and its 1442 miles from here, but i will drive that no problem. i really got to get serious about going. i would have to buy a battle unit for my tamiya tiger 1. maybe have u guys help me set it up, as ive never battled before. it looks like an absolute blast.

Granted that the AAF Tank Museum wasn't the sole reason I travelled nearly 10,000 miles, it was however the reason I made sure I set aside luggage weight and space for my Panther to make the trip with me, and it is completely worth it.

Just returned from Danville Battlefield workday. Randy, Mark, Doug, and I did some regular field maintenance, so it is ready to go.
No major changes, however, one big change is coming soon, and we started prepping for it.
Just need about 2 cubic yards of dirt that will need to be screened of small rocks.
Hopefully, we can get a few more volunteers on the next workday so we can git er done.

Did you say Randy. Please give him my regards. I hope this means he is coming to the event as well. I miss seeing him at Danville. He was MIA too long. Glad to have him back.

Yes, that Randy.
No, he's not coming back, yet, despite my full-court press.
He does still have his tanks, and spoke of a day when he might return.
But his attendance at the past few workdays shows his dedication to the hobby.
In fact, the planned changes to the field were his brilliant idea.
Still a great guy and full of knowledge, RC related and otherwise.
I learn from him every time we speak, even if we are not running tanks.
