Yes Sir!

I look forward to seeing this film.
Shelia LaBoofoo not withstanding...

I'm still waiting on, and or wanting, a Real Tank Movie... "Hammer's Slammers"...

Best Regards,

A real tank movie should be similar to "Das Boot" using Whitman and his "Tiger".

No movies made glorifying a Nazi, and I do like WW2 German armor.

Should be about a real American hero, S.Sgt. Lafayette Pool.

Do us all a favour, have you read what Pool was allegedly supposed to have achieved talk about straight out of Hollywood in fact it so blatantly exaggerated even Hollywood wouldn’t touch the story
258 kills, yeh right
In Europe June to September, 83 days not all in combat
21 combat engagements = 12.28 kills per engagement
1000 men killed = that’s almost 4 men per kill, pool is the only commander to count the dead I wonder why
Even Kurt Kinspel and Otto Carious didn’t manage this score between them in 4 years of war in Tiger tanks what’s more it’s claimed that the Germans exaggerated there kills, Pool’s actual tank kills was 12 confirmed hardly enough to put him on the list of Aces let alone the title Ace of Aces, it’s well known that the highest Allied kills went to a Canadian though I can’t remember who.

You're probably talking about Radley-Walters who got 18 confirmed kills. To me, all the men regardless of flag or uniform, who put themselves in harm's way, were heroes to some extent.

Here's the first official trailer for the movie. As I predicted, tanks are very much the supporting cast to the actors and the Tiger gets a couple seconds' fleeting screentime in the 2.5 minute clip.

I can just see my gf's reaction when I tell her I'm going to see a tank movie....
"Really?? Don't you play with enough toys at work? Don't tell me you are taking some tanks with you!!??"

I'll see if I can get some buddies to battle in the parking lot haha! I have a habit of always having some toy with me to terrorize a parking lot. This weekend I am going for 125mph+ on the car

Looks like a pretty good winter film, will make an effort to watch it later in the spring on my iPad.

For facts, as opposed to that kraut slanted Brit modeler's inaccurate history prattle, knocking WWII 3rd Armor Division's SSgt Poole, visit here:

http://www.3ad.com/history/wwll/pool...ools.tanks.htm

or better yet read this respected Englishman's book to see why SSgt Poole's combat numbers are pretty impressive, earned as a down and dirty combat spearhead enlisted tanker.

Poole was involved in the worst "first German" contact in France and Belgium. Per 3rd AD: Pool is noteworthy as he fought in 21 separate engagements over his 81-day career. In nearly all of them, he was the lead tank in the lead platoon of the lead task force of the lead combat command of the division; the "Spearhead's Spearhead."

FYI, Warner's did Poole's story as a Hollywood film, but they stole the story and changed the names to keep things just legal enough. Film sucked.

Pcomm, I’m English so wont stoop to your deluded level of insults.

Are you suggesting his score of “12 confirmed tank kills” is wrong?
No tank ace from any country has ever counted the dead it’s not practical getting out of your tank in the middle of a battle looking inside a tank that’s probably on fire counting, the only time I have ever read this was pools Hollywood script writer indeed tank aces don’t count soft skinned trucks as kills nor halftracks, I wonder just how many were bicycles and cars sounds like a fair number.

If you wish I can easily find you a number of fantasy websites claiming various exploits of Wittmann and Ernst Barkmann that are also not true, Wikipedia falsely claims Untersturmführer Martin Schroif has 161 kills when in fact it’s more 90 to 100.

He didn't the US Army did, PR/propaganda and all that, as the Allies were losing tanks and men at high rates they too needed to glorify the killing.

By Sgt. Frank Woolner
Combat correspondent, 3AD HQ
September 22, 1944

"During the great armored drives of the American First Army across Europe in the summer offensive of 1944, S/Sgt. Pool led his task force in 21 full scale attacks! He is definitely credited with 258 enemy vehicles destroyed, 250 German prisoners of war taken, and over 1,000 dead before the guns of his Sherman tank, IN THE MOOD."

Well aren't you right in there with all the other mad dogs and poorly read Englishmen. Yes, I did refer to your WWII history writting as prattle from a Brit (Brit means English person) slanted WWII kraut (flag flying) lover, which is far less an insult than just fact. The Soviets mastered professional tank fighting and sustained massive casualties in their winning efforts during WWII. We respectfully honor them for their successful combat deaths during their many years engaged in deadly combat. I do enjoy modeling WWII Soviet Armor (building another JS-2 during the summer & fall) and using a Soviet tank to destroy as many RC Schicklgrubers as I can during infrared light beam fights (how about you) :

Still won't pay $9.75 to see the interesting Hollywood tank action movie though, if that is your problem I'll save 3 bucks and stick to my iPad. "White Tiger" was a pretty good film for tank fans, except for the allegorical theme and wacky mystical Tiger tank stuff.

Summer Soviet JS-2 Fun. And read English Author George Forty, he knows way more about tank combat than you or I do, just saying.
You'll read a little less foolish, if you do.

Saw that yesterday, raises my expectations even higher. Not only for this film, but the two other mentioned.

I'm very excited for this film. I've watched that trailer a dozen times already. I have my reservations just like everyone else but a tank movie is a tank movie, just like a WW2 movie is a WW2 movie: I will watch any and all of them. Grew up on the old ones and those did horrible jobs at using correct armor assets (Patton). In any case, this is definitely marked in the calendar.

Yeah... just got home from seeing it. My wife and I were first in line and saw the first showing.

Movie was okay. Didn't really 'grab' me emotionally like Saving Private Ryan, Band of Brothers, etc.

Tub of popcorn was GREAT!

Some photographs of the actual Fury - its also good reference for weathering an in-the-field tank, mud accumulation on the running gear and all. Its worthwhile to note that there is hardly any rust on this tank and it looks pretty convincing to me.
