Default Hooben T55

Are there any reviews on this kit. I built the Elefant. How does it compare?

Thanks, Bill

It is a beast. I am half way into mine and had to stop due to TK22 issues. I think I am missing connectors from Hooben and the issue is not Clark's.

Some people have had huge problems with the quality of the mouldings and it not going together well. On the other hand mine went together nicely and built up to a really nicely detailed model and runs really well.

I built the T55. It definitely is not on the Tamiya level. There seems to be an effort to copy Tamiya as far as the recoil and elevation units. Mine had the Hooben/slu unit which has morphed into the TK22. I ran into multiple irritating problems mostly with the electronics. Example, the switch on the recoil was missing, and the switch on the elevation unit was jamming causing the elevation unit and recoil unit to fail. I still have some issues with the recoil unit. You had to guess which was the positive and negative wire. Some have had issue with warpage of the plastic. I didn't. I did find that hooben was great to work with whenever I had a problem. I just had to be patient. The build looks good and functions well.
