Heng Long announces new gearboxes

Its all in Chinese, but the gist of it states that they are all-metal gearboxes with imported copper flange bushings, hardened aluminium shafts - the kicker is that it is brushless, which also suggests that HL will be rolling out an improved RX multifunction system. Let's hope that the improved speed and torque doesn't turn HL tanks into ludicrous sports tanks on the field though!

better yet...make the sound changeable with USB input from a computer. Want music, load music; want realistic sounds, load realistic sounds.

The company will soon launch a grand Redux Ⅱ all-metal drive gearbox, this version Tan Kebo box for the latest Dragon highest profile companies, all adapted for imported copper sleeve flange bearings, high-speed brushless motor configuration, plus thick aluminum hard to achieve a faster operating speed gearbox, and more powerful torque, abrasion resistance, etc., unprecedented!
They must mean bronze not copper, lost in translation perhaps? I have to admit my first thought is that, now maybe the suddenly "obsolete"gearboxes drop the price by half? While the vendors get rid of old stock?

Cool. They have to mean bronze, not copper-copper makes no sense-lost in translation perhaps? My first thought is that perhaps the now "obsolete" metal gear boxes drop in price? Give it say a year...should be interesting to see the prices drop (assuming they drop and not go up for some reason).

That move baffles me too. Not that HL is concerned with what people do after they buy, but it makes all the previous RX-18 obsolete for zero advantage. I thought brushless was good for higher rpms and lower in weight than brushed, what would be the advantage in tanks?

@texchap Have to love translator apps!!! I laughed so much at this, "the advantages of wear resistance sex is stronger,There was no parallel in history!" What is going on???? Very funny. Hope they meant high carbon brushed motors and not brushless?

Brushless also have the fun sidenote of being well documented in terms of specs. RPM (Kv rating), power, all usually listed. Most brushed motors are a crap shoot!

The brushed/brushless depends on what translation engine you have translate for you. Google=brushless while Bing=brushed.
If they were to use a brushless motor, it would call for a HUGE revamp on the MB side. Also... pictures for it are posted already, it is here and brushed: http://www.henglongtoys.net/eng/Show...t.aspx?ID=1383
It is the hobbyraw gearboxes but in red

Thanks for the detective work Erik. If these are to become the new standard Heng Long gear boxes, and these will be available as a stock item in their tanks, all I can say is well done.
They will be way too fast for WWII tanks, but if they add these to the Leo and Challenger, they will have a spot on set up., Steel, bearings and a motor with Torque. One less upgrade to buy.

Close, but better hehe. I feel like a jerk for teasing it but I've actually wanted to work on them for a while. I will make sure they are nice, I have a few ideas in my head for better gearboxes all around.
