Jim you will need BUTTON HOLE THREAD attached to a weight and do keep your feet clear as the thread will wear out and the weight hurts! Me I use a step drill or using a pin vise I make a hole then insert an x-acto keyhole saw blade and then finish off with a file. The reason you should not use NYLON thread is that as it gets warm it will melt. shaun

I've read about the Thread Method, Pin Vise and Mini Saw...
The method that I want to try first is the Step Drill...
To that end, I picked up a two bit set from Harbor Freight for $18 .00.
On a different note, yesterday I got a possible line on a couple Plastic Uppers and a Turret...
We'll keep our fingers crossed...
Did make some progress on the Early Taigen Hull last night.
Shot Primer on the exterior, along with a bunch of small parts and a set of plastic tracks.
Have quite a bit more to prime, but ran outta paint.
The plastic tracks are bound for return to the Plastic Tiger.
Plan to strip most of the Metal parts off it for use on the Taigen Hulls...
I'll post a photo or two later this evening...

I love saving money, I am a very strange fellow? When I need to replace my Primer I go to the nearest AUTO PARTS dealer and buy a 500ml rattle can and change the nozzle for one from a can of model paint, more than half price and just as good. shaun

I'd shot the set of Early Road Wheels with Vallejo Flat Red Primer...
But I must have done something wrong, as it peels off when I wipe my finger across the painted surface.
The Rust-Oleum seems to have stuck pretty good... On this batch of parts.
And as was stated earlier it's a Heck of a deal at $5.00 a can...
Though I may wind up transferring it from the Spray Can to another container,
so I can Shoot It through my Airbrush. I am not liking the Waste and lack of control when spraying
it from the can...

GUS in an early part of this your latest novel I noticed you were thinking of using an early model CUPOLA, a word if you do not already know, HENG LONG, TORRO, and TAIGEN all mounted the CUPOLA in the wrong position ( it should be with the hatch hinge at the 20 minutes to 8 when looking from the front with the vision slit facing straight forward) THAT IS NOT THE PROBLEM, what is the problem is that the CUPOLA comes with a ridge on the inside that fits into a slot on the turret roof where the cupola sits, so you have to grind that ridge off the inside of the cupola to allow you to fit the CUPOLA in the correct position, shaun
