NEAD BATTLEDAY IN NJ NEXT SUNDAY SEPT 14TH

At 9AM we will gather again at Sherry Field in Washington Twp (Bergen Cty 07676) off exit 168 of the GSP. Come one come all. It is all free just bring a table chair and drinks. We order out lunch or you can brown bag it too. Haven't got a tank? I have a few spares use mine. Just come.

More info to come later. I have to go to bed now...Maxu52 kept me up all last night.

I'll be there with at least one son.

The SU-100 will make it, may not be painted, but it'll get it's nose bloodied.

Jeff, will you be bringing stuff to sell? I am interested in your SU-100, and 1/16 tank crew (if you have any ready for sale!).

I thought you were holding out for painted ones?

I get very little casting done during the summer, my shop is on the third floor and it gets too hot (can't run the vents for vacuum and resin with AC on), but if you want a Russian, I could probably paint one for you before Sunday. Keep in mind that it's sculpted to work with split hatches, not the KV-1 style.

I did sleep very well last night indeed. Thanks for posting the map Leong. The long range weather looks good and the field is in good shape too. I will post pix tomorrow. Our next NEAD event will most likely be in October in Connecticut at the SENE Military Museum in Danbury CT. If you want to battle you tanks near NYC next weekend is the time.

I was hoping for painted figures, but if you are too busy, I got a guy in Singapore who would do it for me, but I would rather give him a pile of figures and hope to get a bulk rate. I do still want a bunch of crew, German, American, Soviet and modern. I could make up a list for you what I want, but basically it'll go with the tanks I have or plan to have. There's no rush, but as I have only my Panther with me here in the States, a nice German tank commander that fits my Panther cupola would do very nicely!

I'm most likely not going to be commercially producing figures for tanks. As a sculptor, I'm always on the lookout for an opportunity, but I tend to overestimate the market of the RC armor hobby. In the time spent engineering a master to fit in a cupola, I could easily do a full free standing figure that would outsell a partial 10:1. Make that a US Marine or German Fallschirmjager and the sales would double in 1/16 (as well as double the price). In the same time I could complete two 1/35s that would outsell a 1/16 partial by 100:1.

Don't get me wrong, I love the hobby, but from a business standpoint, it's not a good direction. There are quite a few monthly magazines for figure painters as well as huge international conventions, we have nothing even remotely comparable.

Either will work. 1.8amps will charge more quickly but perhaps not get full capicity. .9amps will take quite a while to charge but you'll have a completely efficient charge.
So if you have the time go .9amps. If you only have an hour or so go 1.8.

The Suburban does just fine, thank you. I got 22 tanks down to Danville last time and brought back 19 and 6 new radios too. An it is much more comfortable and faster.
