New from IMEX/Taigen! M4A3 75mm Sherman :)
Hello tankers,
Ok so the wait has gone on long enough! Feast your eyes upon our new M4A3 75mm Sherman! This thing is a BEAST of a tank. You think the T34 was solid built? Check this guy out! I'll get another more detailed teardown later, but for now please enjoy the pictures and video!

We will have them in stock in October, very soon
If you are going to the I-Hobby show in Chicago soon, I will have it there if you wish to preview it. That goes for both the dealer and retail days of the show. Just come on up and ask, I might have my baby (my Sherman, not an actual kid....) hiding from all the little kids running around.

This is great! However, to complete the victory lap...do you plan to offer parts for variations? HVSS suspension? Different turrets? Gun tubes for the 76 (with and without the muzzle break)? It could stay the basic M4A3 shape, but those other variations would be awesome. An HL or Mato upper could probably be mated to get different A-variants.

IM HAPPY Hope everyone else is ...Originally the release date was set for 11/12/14 to be in the stores... But thanks Brad had to move your movie up and mess up my surprise.. I am leaving for China tomorrow morning to QC the first production run.. The release date now will be sometime between 10/30 -11/12 depending on shipping and customs.. As usual we dont announce items in advance only when our tooling is completed. And our testing has been done.. Thank you all for your support Bill

Modding the resin upper hull to use the latch system shouldn't be too difficult.

On that note, I'm working on a Jumbo build with a Nick Aguilar conversion kit. I was planning on using a Mato lower hull but this looks very nice and might also do the job. Can you please post the length and width of the lower hull from the sponson to sponson?

Like the solid road wheels and the cast effect on the turret is ridiculous (in a good way)!!! Nice job I guess I will turn around and head back to Home!!!

I love it! And those solid road wheels, man... now we can mix and match 'em up! If I'm not wrong, the Jumbo had those or at least the welded up solid spoked wheels. I must look up that to be sure. Also looks like the tracks are single pinned. I can work with that. And one more thing, I do like the casting affect on the turret.
Yeah, I can see another Sherman or two in my bucket list. Must use this now for a M4A3E2 because of it's weight. Thinking of adding brass panels to the lower hull just so it IS heavier! LOL
Nice work guys... Erik and crew! Way to go!

Is it Airsoft or IR? I could see the body recoil in the movie but could not tell if the gun tube recoiled too, did it?
Lastly, how much trouble will it be to convert one of these to battle alongside a Tamiya Sherman? You know, in a club battle somewhere.
I like the look of it. I may need more than one.

wow really pushing the envelop. Sorry, I am not a negative person or a hater, but this is a real let down. I am honestly happy for those that really wanted this tank done again, and of course it is better than nothing at all.
Eric don't take this as a personal attack, but if you are truly listening there have been more polls and wish lists on this site for new tanks, and tanks that have already been done are seldom at the top.

Sorry old boy, big hype and then ……………………another ………………………..Sherman……………………………. rather like …………………another……………………………………Tiger……………………………. . you did say that it had not been done before yet more hype , for me an M18 or Cromwell to name but a few would have been far better received, very very large disappointment, next time try a complete new model not a slightly different variant otherwise known as a rehash

Well like I said on another, somewhat prophetic thread, some folks feel that you can NEVER get enough Shermans.
Heh. I once wondered, in another Forum, why every time a NEW R/C Military Plane is produced, it was ALWAYS a P-51. Boy Did I get Flamed on THAT One!
I'm HAPPY for the Sherman Guys, But Erik? For Imex's Next Tank, how how about going out on a Limb for change?
Like a Puma, or a more Modern Tank like a T-72?
Mordock OUT!

I am sorry Erik this is what Mato is bringing out all in metal that I mentioned months ago. The suspension is wrong in the fact that the prototype never operated like that. The Mato Metal suspension works like the prototype. The suspension on this offering on this Taigen is wrong.
The advanced solid handle is marketing hype at its best. It is a step backwards.
I am not sure why you manufacturers don't talk more. Another big hatch Sherman Darn. I was hoping for more.. Here is what Mato will be releasing. All metal. correct suspension and with a hobby grade radio. I have had these pictures for months prior to the German Toy fair, and then Mato announced this with all their tank destroyers as well.
Oh look it's got those darn pesky open handles, split hatch, and low bustle turret too.
Sorry I don't want to be cynical, but this group on this forum have been around the block, and are kind of tuned into this market. IF you are going use all this hype, show us something we haven't seen.

Call it a feeling, but I think the hype didn't match the final product. That's not saying the Taigen Sherman is a bad thing, Imex shows they care about quality, so it means that it will be an improvement. But correct me if I am wrong, I think that they aren't big enough to launch their own unique tanks yet, and their next few launches will still be based on tank models made by the usual core producers like Heng Long, Mato, and Matorro, but improved.

whine crab and *****. I'll take this Sherman, its a hell of a lot better than nothing AND it is a 75mm, this opens up the possibilities of lots of mods and other variants. stop being so cynical, Its not like we have an over abundance of product to play with. Every model released will help this hobby big time

Why are the stars so stark white on a heavily weathered tank?
I can't believe I just did all the work to convert a hvss into a vvss jumbo only to see this come out!
i do agree that a cast hull small hatch 75 would have been a must have.

Yup.. Couldn't agree more.. all the hype and then BLAMO...rehash. Well at least I wont have to cut off my right arm like I was planning on for something like a Puma, Churchill, Type 95 or something lol. These companies just don't get it, we want NEW models not rehashes..I don't care if it's made of platinum I don't want another Tiger/Sherman/Panther/etc.

Mato has the same thing coming out and this has been known for months. With the Mato release just around the corner, now we will have two almost identical tanks competing for the same customer $ + the Heng Long.. Pretty small market to have these kind of things happening.

I know I'm the new guy in the tank here, and please don't take this the wrong way, but many of y'all just sound like ungrateful spoiled brats. Never have I've seen a company provide such service and customer relations as IMEX. When was the last time a Tamiya tech or manager was on the boards to listen to y'all whine? When did Tamiya last put out a new tank? I salute Erik and his boss. There is no way everyone was going to be happy with what the new release but good grief you could at least be adult and gracious about it. I seriously doubt this Sherman will be IMEX's last tank. Sincere best wishes, no offense meant
