Default M4/M3 three piece transmission cover.

I've been working on a Three piece cover for the M3/M4's

I wanted something that doesn't require too much work on the tank itself (just a bit of trimming needed)

The upper hull slots into the top of the cover

Making sure they all fit

Another test fit after gluing the curved parts to the middle section of the cover

All glued together

The bottom hangs down a bit as it's just slotted into place and hasn't been screwed on. Just needs some bolts now.

Finished one on my Priest-

Also did one for my Firefly-

Sweet.

Nice work, is it ABS or PLA?

Very nice! With that kind of detail I'm going to guess ABS right? Have you ever tried to vapor bath them? After you do it makes the parts smooth as an injection molded piece. You can do the same with PLA but that stuff is seriously dangerous I hear.

Thanks

They're made of PLA . I tried ABS but had too many problems getting a reliable print and I have concerns over ABS fumes (I have the printer next to me so I can keep and eye on it). I gave them a coating of knifing to fill in the lines (the knifing putty also gives a nice "cast" effect).

@YHR PM me

This is excellent. Are you in the hull printing market?
