If you had the machinery this is not a big task. From what I see of the vid it looks like they contract out the parts and just assemble. They are nice tanks though.

As you say Jerry, there is always one Prize idiot.
I liked the part where one chap is using a vice to press two parts together, the very few people who I have spoken to who own Metal box models as in 2 people both had to replace speed controllers and various other parts also some of the mechanics are not first rate.

Building a model from scratch is far from simple especially when you have to design every last component before you can even begin to manufacture the model

In 1/16th scale a .45 caliber barrel would be a 182.88mm cannon. Have you ever noticed that an airsoft unit is approximately the same shape as a .25 caliber automatic? I think it would be a VERY bad idea to put anything dangerous in our tanks. Imagine what the hobby would be like with the ATF breathin' down our necks. They may be for girls but I'll stick with paintballs and bbs. Besides, what's wrong with girls? I like girls!

Yeah, sorry. Of course I'm joking. I wanted to put rockets on my planes for a long time. Still do actually and I would if I had a place to fly away from everyone.. But no, I wouldn't put real rounds in an RC tank. But I would enjoy actual target shooting and not IR so BB's, paintballs or something.

I lived in California in the early 80's and there was an outfit there I believe in northern Cal that sold an all-metal tank that ran on gasoline engines. I was poor as dirt at the time but man did I want one of those. The company probably didn't last long and the tank probably would have gone through parts pretty quickly. By now it would have been a huge paperweight for decades probably.

Before I dropped 8 grand on one of these, I would want to make sure they got the reliability issue fixed. Transporting a heavy tank for 5 minutes of running would grow old fast!!!!!!

At first I thought .... no way am I gonna spend 30 minutes watching this .... but I got hooked after a minute or so. Very interesting, I enjoyed watching it. I would like to spend a day or two at that facility just watching, looking around and checking everything out. Thanks

That would have been me. JC Scale Armor. I was selling Maier Panthers and Seiki Tigers. They were ( and are ) glow engine powered models.

Yeah, shooting anything from a tank beyond light, sound or harsh language is a major mistake in my opinion, just my opinion however in my models I practice it
religiously. I'm no stranger to firearms, I just strongly feel they don't have any place in RC armor.

Let’s be clear here by placing a weapon in an RC tank would convert it from a mere model to a mobile weapons platform, this in the hands of the local nutter would be lethal and also highly illegal, if you are in doubt take some drawings to the local police station informing them of what you intend to build, I’m sure they would be delighted to discuss ways of improving firepower.

There are enough nutjobs brainwashed enough to try this sort of thing don’t give them ideas.
