HL Stug III Gun Removal/Re-Installation?
I have one HL Stug III that I made up about 3 years ago into an IR conversion with a DBC II.
I like the Stug but I recall removing and re-installing the gun was quite a process, I was wondering if someone has some suggestions as to a good technique to do this.
I realize this may be tough to describe in words.
I am not unused to mechanical assemblies and I looked at it with another experienced modeler and we could not find a nice way to do this. It was almost like they glue some on the assembles together at the factory. We had to go some prying to get it done, but it seemed to me that there must be a better way.

The whole thing comes apart with screws. Take off the front plate from around the barrel mantlet and you will find two screws to remove. There are four screws two on each of the sides of the barrel pivot bracket. You can then remove the barrel. The barrel itself simply unscrews from the recoil mech. There are also two screws on the pivot bracket into the upper hull roof to take out the pivot. Easy peasy.
