It's back up now. I'd changed it a bit then Shapeways went down before I could put the new one up for sale.

So any of those engine decks are possible for the M51 or M50? That would make things easy. Thanks edoubleaz!!!

I found the bits and modded my earlier post. My M50 Project Thanks you! I got a local guy working on a custom barrel!

As Per the Variants.... Most M50s I have seen seem to have the first or second style deck with the exhaust stack below decks. My variant will be an early one depending on how much I have to rebuild to get my turret working.

Tom, the storage boxes look good. 3D printing is a game changer for one off stuff. edouableaz, the progression photo is nice thanks. I think I will go with these....

Hey folks, I've been a bit remiss in updating my build thread. Here's the first progress update. I'm pleased to say the m50 is now ready for paint. I've done a fair bit, chains on the smoke launchers, casting marks, rebuilt exhaust, some more detail on driver and radio mans hatches, added the tools and took holders, cast effect on the turret, added search light with built in IR emitter, mantlet cover, mantlet detal and probably some more I have forgotten.

Thanks Dan! I'm looking forward to the paint, she's been naked for far too long!

Looking great!

I know it shouldn't bother me, but the tracks are on backwards XD.

OMG that looks awesome. Mipy E8 has been naked for 6 years, just started painting parts of it.

one thing I want to suggest, think about making brass stip rear tail light brush guards. The tamiya sherman tail light guards break really easy from experience and I do see lots of shermans that have suffered the same fate, i would hate to see that happen to your project.

Hi Rich, I've kept the plastic ones because I've found them to hold up far better than brass sheet ones. On my m51 I've had no issues.

Cool. Ive broken them on two shermans, the only parts I broke, mand on two tanks. Hence why i made brass ones for my A1 build and used schumo eto ones for my E8.
and I was always worried it would be the front ones that would brake and they didnt.
