Sherman Number 9...
Didn't take any build pic's - too busy trying to finish it in time for an exhibition next weekend :
Its a real mongrel of a build:
Mato chassis
HL steel gears
HL Pershing sprockets and tracks
Tamiya suspension and idlers
HL upper hull
Nick Agular turret
Tamiya Electronics (of course )
Decals are a mixture of Elite Armor's Easy 8 set (white stars and bumper codes) and dry rub letters.
Original subject is Jimmy Leach's Easy 8, CO, B Company, 37th Tank Battalion Jan 1945:
http://jimmieleach.us/
And here with the rest of the 4th Armored Division...
Rivet, you are going to need a bigger car if I am going to 'invade' Germany with all this lot next weekend

I case you have not noticed .....Martin is a certified Sherman Nut.
So after years of talking about it we met in Normandy last summer.
I am from NJ and he is from England...so that is why we met in Virginia a few years ago. It makes perfect sense? Doesn't it?
Every tank museum in Europe (no matter how large or small) MUST have a M4 Sherman. I think it is the law.
Martin gave me quite an education on M4s. Just to make him happy when I brought a tank with me to battle in Europe I left my favorite Panther home and took a Tamiya Sherman instead.
I think he would have brought real one home if he could have afforded the Channel Ferry fare for that weight class.
Congrats on number 9 pal. Have fun at the toy show. Maybe next year I'll meet you guys there.

Am I missing something? It says Sherman Number 9 but I only count 8.
8 of the finest looking RC tanks I've ever seen, but still only 8.
That isn't some kind of late April Fool's thing, is it, Martin?
And that tractor is awesome. If you post some more pics of that beauty you'll be my hero for at least 20 minutes.

There's only 7 Sherman's in that picture
The M4 HST is not my handiwork, I picked it up on fleabay as a static based off of the Mato Sherman chassis. All I have done is fit the gearboxes, add lights and a very basic interior to hide the gearboxes.
If Mato ever releases their Stuart, I'll try to get hold of the running gear and swap it out, but for now it will have to do.

Does that mean the tank way at the back behind all those cool halftracks is not a Sherman? Maybe a TD? I can't see it too well in the photo, but it does look different from the other 7 tanks in the picture. What exactly is that one? Maybe a Hellcat? It seems to have a shorter upper hull than the Shermans, but I can't see the sides of the tracks. They kinda look wider, too (the tracks).

Thats agreat collection EPT, now all we need is a good model of the 105 howitzer to make a Priest. Thats what i would love to build. get some fire support into the action. also a good 155 Long tom with a Deuce and a half truck would be great or even and artillery tractor would be even better.

I'm hoping to host a meet here at my house this summer, it's a lot closer for you, Jimmy. Just over one county away. Go east across Washtenaw County and it's less than 8 miles from the county line into Wayne County. I'm hopin' for early July.

When you say "Mato chassis", is that the metal M4 chassis? Or, the plastic M4A1 chassis?

Plastic - I want as little metal in my tanks as possible. Most of my M4's are on the Mato chassis and most of them still use the plastic Mato gearboxes.

Cool thanks...wonder if the same could be done with an HL or Taigen lower...use the HL lower hull with Tamiya HVSS running gear...
