In that first photo, the front four tires point in one direction and the other four tires point in an opposite direction allowing the Puma to turn around a tight corner or make a small diameter U turn.
On the real Puma could all of the tires be pointed in the same direction to allow the Puma to move on a bias angle (kinda sideways) while the body stayed straight?

Wow, that would be very neat battle tactic. Looks like the vehicle is going straight but actually it would be moving forward and to one side or the other....100 feet forward and 100 feet to the side. Talk about screwing with the artillery spotters.
