My new Project/ Jagdpanzer IV L/70(A)
So, having just finished my Tamiya JS2, and waiting on the Wizard Daryl to finish his magic on my Leo 1A4, I decided to start my Jadgpanzer IV L/70(A). I scored the upper hull from German Ebay last year which is a HL with a Imperial or Profiline(?) Jadgpanzer citadel roughly glued on. I finally had the funds to buy the Asiatam all metal PZIV lower kit and metal upper hull detail parts to finish it off. To say I was a bit disappointed is an understatement. The material used are top notch, however, the finishing work is sloppy and ill conceived. For the money I paid, this kit should go together without much hassle, but it has been a bit of a nightmare. For starters, there are NO instructions, NONE. The kit is also missing parts like the springs for the suspension and various screws, nuts and bolts. I am also missing detail pieces like the brackets to the rear tow hooks. Maybe I am spoiled by the ease and quality of my Tammy kit, but I expected more considering the outlay of cash. Unless you are an experienced modeler, which I barely qualify, and are prepared to get the Dremel out along with your spare parts bin, I say avoid this kit. I bought everything to complete the lower including tracks, idlers, road wheels, ect. The individual parts are nice, like the tracks, but overall I would have saved time AND MONEY just buying a HL PZIV lower and calling it a day. I finally figured out the mysterious metal plate with two holes is a bracket which mounts under the front hull and acts as a hold down to the lower hull. Unfortunately, the owner I purchased the upper hull from, hacked off the two posts it attaches to....

That's too bad, I had been looking at those lowers for a while.
Where did you but the lower from?
Asiatam?
You're lucky to have found the Profiline upper when you did, as they are now a very rare commodity.

I am almost done with it, I ordered some headlights and a tammy elevation from Jason to get her done. It is all tammy electronics, Asiatam metal lower and Profiline/HL upper. I know the rivet counters will find many issues with it, but it looks good to me with my limited abilities.....

This one lives in Flint. (EDIT: It's not an L/70, it's a Stug IV), but it looks cool, and it sure kicked the crap out of that KT.

I think the owner said this is an Asiatam kit for the Stug IV. I just thought it was cool and another tank destroyer built on the PIV chassis. Like Erik said, you can never have too many TDs.
