Yes, but you might have to tweak the mounting holes in the frames to fit.
Does this guy have a website? I'd like to order the kit, but I'm kinda wary of throwing cash at an email address..?

I'd really like to pick one of these up myself. I wonder how well it will fit the Imex Sherman lower hull. I haven't investigated any further, but I'm sure it won't be long before someone posts their experience. My psychic voice tells me this is going to be a popular item if it's all legit and on the up and up.
If the order site is an email I'm assuming it must be via paypal so at least your investment will be protected, and I think $160 with shipping to the US isn't too bad. Even better for you, Martin. Could be better but still not too bad. I wonder if four or five guys got together if they could save any shipping money. $40 is common, but it's still kinda steep if you ask me.
I'd like to see more photos and get some info on RC set-up, like gun recoil and if it can go IR or airsoft. I'm not sure an airsoft unit would work in that side mounted cannon, and I seriously doubt it will fit that small turret, not to mention that a 96mm gun in that turret would look ridiculous. For me the ideal would be IR with recoil and proper sound and light (flash) from the turret. I don't know much about the Lee, but I'd imagine that's a 20 or 30mm gun in the turret, and while it's no 105, it still makes a very serious noise.

Looks great but for the non-do it yourselfers, isn't MATO coming out with a metal M3 Lee?
As well as some others that were announced.

I believe the first will be the M36 Jackson, at about $800 plus for RTR. I also seem to remember that it's not going to be available in both airsoft and IR, but one or the other (I think IR) due to turret space considerations, but I could be 100% wrong about that last item, so take it with a grain of salt.

If you mount the unit sideways you can get it pretty close to the edge. This is the Sturmtiger with the airsoft unit mounted sideways. The unit on the side is the barrel traverse. Without the traverse mechanism you could put it pretty close to the edge.

Thanks it works now!!!So the Sturmtiger has elevation and traverse?

Much better. Now that's a very interesting unit. Traverse and elevation in one. With two separate motors I don't see why you couldn't make that work with a clark or IBU2 to get back and forth and up and down with the stick and not have to cycle all the way through, and that's got me wondering if one of those units could be installed in the new Jagdtigers? Do you think it could be used to put traverse in a Jagdpanther? Seems like space would be more of an issue in a JP, but the JT is pretty big so should have plenty of room. Can that unit be purchased separately right now? That's the kind of thing I'd really like to play around with.

I had to digest this for a few days before I replied so it didn't sound like whining, (so here goes anyway ) but where did the $800 price tag come from? I mean, weren't the first metal tanks supposed to be like around $500 or so? Did they improve these to warrant a price higher than the superior Tamiya kit?
I know I must have blacked out momentarily after my head hit the floor from falling out of my chair when reading THAT! I was all set to handle a few of them but not at that price. The material used doesn't warrant THAT much of a price increase so all I can think of is that they figured if we will pay Tamiya prices, why not demand that for theirs? LOL Not quite the same.
So it looks like I can let go of that pipe dream for awhile... spend it on something else. Thanks for the warning.

I could be off on that price, but not by much. Rona posted it in the thread where she hooked me up with the mato/clark package for the PIII. That's for ready to run, painted, with clark and a 6 channel radio. I'll see if I can get more specific info.

Check this thread

Rona says the RTR Mato metal Sherman is $700 (PLUS shipping, at least another $40) and she's already laying the groundwork for a slightly higher price by saying how much more work the M36 will be (83 hand drilled holes in the turret). The M36 definitely won't be any cheaper than the Sherman, and for me that's $740 delivered. Since nothing is getting any cheaper the price will only go up, so I wasn't off by much when I said $800 plus. If I had said $700 plus I would've been a bit more accurate, but it's going to be an expensive item any way you look at it.

I paid with paypal. Using paypal gives you 6 months of protection which is enough time for transit form Chekeslovokia or hungary or wherever he is.
This is the gearbox set that I was told to retro fit into the Henglong Sherman chassis to fit this M3 upper onto

Cant wait to get mine in the mail.

I'm with ya there. I started my JP with a $115 all plastic HL and I've had more fun with that tank than almost any other. I also did one of my Imex Tigers that way, got the all plastic at the LHS for $250 and then went crazy with the upgrades. I know it would've been cheaper to just buy the all metal right from the start, but it wouldn't have been anywhere near as much fun. This is the T1 before and after. Of course you can't see all the metal, like tracks, sprockets, idlers, shoulder wheels, full metal turret, etc, etc, but I can sure feel it when I drive this puppy.
I want to wait til it's been out for a bit before I get an M36, mainly because I want to see what the inside looks like and how much space is available. I'm hoping it has room for an IBU2. The plan is to get the all metal M36 Jackson, but unpainted and without electronics, which should drop the price by about $200 (maybe more if I wait for one of the holiday sales), and then do the rest myself. I've already got most of the stuff for the insides, and I'll get the same radio I run the JP on (under $30).
