I haven't been my usual self since new years Dave. Our family had a tough winter with two cases of cancer.... so I have been very busy with family matters. That is why I missed the last event. I am looking forward to resuming a normal routine once this settles down. No Kim or Krista this time Dave. I greatly appreciate your sentiments and the girls are flattered you asked for them.

Troy, dunno if you saw Doug's post on Facebook about parking the RV.
I think y'all may have to find a new spot as they are using that area for their new marketplace.
You may want to call the museum.

Thanks for the heads-up. I don't use face book so i would have never known. Anyway I was planning on staying at the campground. Since this event has breaks for lunch and dinner I can run back there. Also with the heat and the dogs I'd burn a ton of fuel in the generator so having 50 amp will workout better this time.
What is this market place thing? Like a flea market / swap market?

Heads Up tankers!
I just made a reservation at the Comfort Inn and they are just about booked solid.
Apparently there is a graduation nearby and they are full.
I managed to get a Suite, but the price is $94 instead of $73 for the museum rate.
Bill, I am sharing the room with Dana on Sat, if you want to split the room on Fri.
The problem is there is one King bed and a pull out couch.
I will go $60/40 if you are willing to sleep on the pull out, if that's seems fair to you.
No pressure, I understand if you don't.
There is a small chance that if there is a cancellation, I could get a double instead.

Ok I can do a couch or even a pullout couch. 40 seems reasonable. I was able to get a room for Sat. If anyone is looking for a roomate on Sat I could help out.
Thanks Dave. Just Let me know how you want to settle up.

Yeah I got a double on Sat. They don't have any available for both FRI and SAT. But at least the double is the regular rate and not the raised rate of the suite.

Tomorrow is Friday. Tomorrow is tank battle day. Hurray for tomorrow! If you are a lover of tanks, and don't come to Danville for a battle day, you are depriving yourself of some major fun. Get off the couch and come and enjoy the museum and the tank battles this weekend.

I want to say thank you to the AAF and NEAD for hosting this battle weekend.
Very good turn out, 28 tankers on Saturday.
They came from Detroit, Florida, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Georgia, and North Carolina.
A wide range of experience levels were represented, from veterans (some who who had not been around for while) and some newbies.
Lots of good battles and good fun.
I am sure there will be some photos and/or videos to come.

Thanks from NEAD for the great turnout men....28 RC Tankers from all over the east coast. I know I had a great time and the Holiday weekend gave a few tankers more time to travel too. Steve & Dennis came up together from Florida (just 12 hours) and Mike came down from Michigan(a mere 10 hour drive). Leong drove 10 hours too. His wife deserves a medal. Will from Georgia and it was nice to see James Newman back from hiatus. The NEAD Spring event has always enjoyed a great turnout and this time was no different. We had 6 new tankers come too boot. Tony Watson from NC & Pat Patterson from MD made the trip plus David & Aaron, Will & William. Pix coming later. I am beat.

It has been a privilege to hang out with all of you, and have use of this world-class facility. It has also been an eye opening experience seeing the different tank builds particularly the custom tanks, and also the different battle formats, particularly the evolution of Rolling Thunder into something that is truly fun to play (my first time in RT, I hated being XO and in my last RT campaign I volunteered for XO every time). It has been a wonderful period of my life and the memory will stay with me. Thank you, every one of you, for your hospitality, generosity and camaraderie.
