Will be eventually. Doing a Vicker HMG first.

Ok guys, I got my bogie suspension mod set from Woz, what a nice set. If you get a M3 talk him into selling you a set.

So for the last couple weeks all I have done is ponder and then work on the tracks. I stared by chiseling off the plastic chevrons and then got a new dremmel cutting drum so I switched to that, so much faster. I followed up by cutting up .080 black styrene sheet to the guestimated rubber track pad size and then coarsely sanded the backs for glue adhesion. On the tracks I scored with an exacto for adhesion and the first couple are really firmly glued with CA.

I am still waiting on Denes to send me the top pivot pin for the main gun that got left out of the kit. His last email to me was fairly cryptic in that the guy that made them was in the hospital with a heart attack and future was uncertain etc. I don't know if I am going to get that part, I might have to fabricate it myself. I can do it, but I really don't want to. Im going to finish the tracks to get the look right and set it aside and continue on my E8 and my Jumbo, and I just landed another HVSS project too. Man they are stacking up. I want to build my African Queen boat real soon too. Ugh I need to retire so I can have more time....

By the way, you notice there haven't been any M3 kits on ebay for a bit....

Rich, what scale are you doing the African Queen? Talk about a movie that brings back memories.

Let me know if there's any way I can improve the bogies.

Thanks.

Just seen this on FB-

Dénes Attila "I am sorry because of the delay. Zoltan (the manufacturer) was in the hospital for three weeks with heart attack. He is at home from yesterday and the kits will be shipped today or tomorrow. I am sorry again it was not planned... "

Ok I finally finished my track retro fit. Talk about long pain in the ass. But the look is totally worth it. I ran it around today for the first time. Here is a quick video to show off my new tracks.

Max the African Queen is a Billing Boat kit in 1 1/2 scale. A beautiful kit. I won a speed control for it at the RC boat regatta last weekend. A fella showed up with a nice LCM just like mine. Mine's on the right with the tanks of course.

I like this as I have the same plans for the early track pads on an A1.

But... the hold up is still hammering out the early VVSS work.

I'm awfully late to the game obviously, but I'm just getting into tanks after being into planes. I've got a Heng Long m4 Sherman that I've been upgrading, which leaves me with a spare nearly complete chassis. I loved the jim belushi movie Sahara and always wanted that tank, same reason I got a Sherman because of the movie tank lol
point is, I can't find any 1/16 m3 upper hull kidk and hoped you might have an idea.

If you search

General Lee from Sherman soldier scale 1:16 Resin kit 120 mm

on Ebay you should find a kit for the HL Sherman, I am unsure of its quality, but it seems to be reasonable from the photos.

If you like the movie with Jim Belushi, you should check out the original with Humphrey Bogart.

https://www.rctanksofokc.com/Conversion-Kits.html

He has them listed on the site.

Richjohnson, because I have a spare Sherman chassis that I wanna put to use and I enjoy projects. I get more out of doing something myself than I do buying off the shelf. Mainly thei don't want this chassis sitting around taking up space.

I meant the M3 lee kit on ebay. He sells them there every month, and I believe its the same brand as the one in this thread that I built. I have some of Ludwiggs stuff, its hit and miss on QC and fit and finish.
I totally get using what you got, I have built lots of Shermans and have about 4 more to complete before I probably tie up the Sherman company.

Sorry for the slow response Jarhead2005. Panzerjager66 is correct just e-mail Chris Ludwig at the e-mail address he gave you. Rich is correct as well. Sometime the kit is sold on eBay as well.
