Default New Taigen V2 Ball Bearing Steel Gearboxes! In stock and ready to go!

Hey tankers!
So we all have been waiting on these for way too long.... so without further adieu I present the new V2 ball bearing CNC machined steel gearboxes! These new gearboxes will have better shimming, our new upgraded black motors (10-15% more torque vs the grey motors), and of course bearings in all reduction shafts and the final drive shaft. They are offered in short and long shafts and in both M/L and H/L mounts, assuring your tank will be covered Introductory prices are set at $69.99 for the set. Here are the available options:
TAG14000S- High/Low, 3:1, 48mm shaft
TAG14001L- High/Low, 3:1, 58mm shaft
TAG14005S- Middle/Low, 3:1, 48mm shaft
TAG14006L- Middle/Low, 3:1, 58mm shaft
TAG14010S- High/Low, 4:1, 48mm shaft
TAG14011L- High/Low, 4:1, 58mm shaft
If you have a question on what gearbox your tank needs please feel free to ask, I have most all memorized and the ones I dont I have a sheet for right beside me Each gearbox will have the tanks it fits listed on our website as well. Please be advised that some tanks can use either M/L or H/L and both 3:1 and 4:1 versions, so some gearboxes may overlap. The L/L dual ratio gearboxes will be coming later in the year, I believe I may have finally found a motor I am happy with Please enjoy guys! http://www.imex-model.com/category/9...lease%20Select

You can put me down for at least one 10S. Just in time to get them in the Tammy compatible Imex Full Metal IR Tiger for the battle on the 11th. Now if the Impact unit gets here in time I'll be kickin' butt and takin' names. The best part will be watching my Imex do in all those Tamiyas.

So what other goodies were in that container?

Thats nice but, they still have the pressed steel side plates. I would like to see a better built box myself. Now, the bearings certainly help but you can still get deflection in the TU with the thin metal plates.

Just one more batch of items....

So far these have been holding up VERY well for the stress put on them. I ran my 3660 motors @ 3000kv and running 4 cell lipo on them on my brushless tank and if that couldnt destroy them then normal tank operation shouldn't either I do understand the want for a different/better mounting system and gearbox structure though, I will see what I can do there in the future maybe. (I have a surprise hopefully soon I can announce you most likely will be very interested in btw)

Maybe today? Depends on how fast I can get done with my morning work and make a quick video for everyone....

The main issue was that the quality of the bends on the plates was very poor at times and they where not square which caused problems with gear mesh and shaft wear. I think that as long as the angles are correct and in the right location they should be fine but i would like to see them a little thicker just to add more rigidity to the entire structure.

Don't worry, QC is better with us Especially with me NAGGING the living poo out of them too haha. I don't let anything pass by me. I wouldn't even take the 5:1 because I wasn't happy with the motors (this is like motor #4 or so) as I knew you guys wouldn't be either. These gearboxes are all new and just made on all new machines. QC shouldn't be an issue with these guys We just got a new stamping machine so it is being put to good use on stuff other than the gearboxes (hint hint). I know I've said it a bunch of times lately but things are going to keep changing for the good around here and Taigen will be a force to be reckoned with when I'm done with it!

What is the gear ratio of those gearboxes?
Any difference between them and old version in gear ratio?

Yes, you will need the Middle/Low, 3:1, 48mm shaft gearboxes. They are TAG14005S and can be found here: http://www.imex-model.com/product/TA...29.html?cid=90

I've purchased two sets now. One for my Torro KT and a 4 shaft set for my Taigen Sherman (thanks pedzola) and they do make a big difference in drivability. The KT also sports an IBU2.

Oh yea, it make a huge difference. The slow speed is where you can really see it.

Yep, nice scale speed and the torque produced is a plus.

https://youtu.be/seuxfrJ_CHE Here is a short video with the V-2 4 shaft gear boxes. It can really creep now.

Sorry for the poor video. Trying to drive a record at the same time.

That is much better. I have said this all along. A better gear ratio makes all the difference in the world to these things. Way easier on the electronics as well. They should come with these.

Cheers
