Default Best smoker?

I would like to know what is the best smoker for your tank? I have the super smoker from upstate NY. I have seen the YOUTUBE video of the IMEX smoker 2 and the TARR smoker using the MEGASTEAM? Does it matter or just use MEGASTEAM?

I would give the MEGA-STEAM a try first. The supersmoker is a pretty good machine so you should have no issues...

I agree, cut to the chase and get the mega steam. He even has sample bottles for 5 bucks. That reminds me, I need to order more.

As for smokers, it depends on the tank. The super smoker doesn't work with taigen tanks. The TARR is good, but for most of my tanks I'm happy with the V2 from Imex. Great smoke on mega steam and they're just ten bucks. That's right, 10 bucks. Can ya believe that?

If you want massive smoke the best bet is to build your own. Not that hard to do, and you have much better results. You've seen my Jagdpanther in action, right? That's an old Heng Long that's been rebuilt with a new resistor and a mini fan, running on mega steam. If you haven't seen it I'll post the video.

EDIT: I'm not sure about mega steam in the super smoker. I think the super smoker makes water vapor so I'd stick with what comes with it, just to be safe. If you're close to me I could probably send you a bottle because I didn't have much luck with the super smoker and mine is a paperweight, but I've still got the fluid.

I like the Tar MKI smokers. Can't stand the loud noise from the V-1 and V-2 because I like to keep my volume down a little. I want to hear the sounds from my IBU2, not the smoker. I also use the mega steam.

They are available on Ebay. Mine is on the way. Just watch the seller he offers two different models mk1 and 2 (metal vs. plastic) http://www.ebay.com/itm/361338255704

I've tried both of the MKI and MKII. I've found that the plastic bodied MKII don't work as well. So look in his "other items" if you want the MKI.

This made me laugh pretty hard, thanks for that!
Our V2 smoke units are pretty nice, they can be modified to produce some pretty hefty smoke if you want. You can check youtube for our latest V2 smokers I just posted recently. Just wait until V3 next year or so (no ETA as of now), thanks to RCU it will be quite the beast

I just received and Installed my V2 Smoke unit in my Taigen Sherman. I have to say that I am a little dissapointed. Even with Mega Steam (diesel scent), It does't seem to produce any more smoke than the V1. Has anyone else experienced this with their V2 Smoker? Is there anything I can do to improve the performance?

I don't have a taigen V2 smoker on hand, but from what I've seen on You Tube; It looks like an improved version of the H'L' smoker with an upgraded heater element and the same pumping system...
Almost 3 years ago, I suggested an easy way to improve the pumping system of the H.L. smoker that would work for the V2 as well:

Yes follow this man's advice for a champ smoker! I've done so myself and it is quite the difference. Also, your idea was not missed, I actually like the fan idea myself as well as a water based system if possible. People really like the piston pumping smoke but I'll see what I can do about that

Hitman, Hi. Tankbear in the UK sells the IBU2 and TARR SMOKERS Find him at
www.rctankelectronics.weebly.com
Fitting a TARR SMOKER is very easy, if you are using a HENG LONG RX18 plug the smoker into the relevant socket with the attached plug, feed the two outlet pipes to the exhaust pipes and leave the third pipe (at the rear of the smoker)to refill the smoker.
If you are using a CLARK board plug the smoker into the right hand smoker socket, Use the left hand smoker socket for the smoker switch.
If you are using an IBU2 plug the smoker into the smoker socket and discard the smoker switch.
Refilling with Mega-stream is best done with the supplied pipette, 1/2 filling the pipette and injecting it into the refuelling tube should give a run time of an hour.
I hope that helps. shaun

Hi Guys,

I am going to be carrying the TARR 1 and Mega-Steam for our club (Can-Am RC Tank Club) up here in Canada. I have the TARR 1's in hand. I guess I bought all his metal ones he had in stock. Just waiting for my Mega-steam supply to come in and we will be selling as a package. It will save a little on shipping as a package of course. As far as price goes we will sell the package for $34.00 U.S. plus shipping which would probably be around $15.00 to most places in the States....

This is the method I used for the smoker in my Jagdpanther, and I think you've all seen how well that works. I'm about to make another so if anyone wants to see it I'll make a video as I do it.

I think I'll have to give this setup a go. At first I was planning on attempting an acoustic smoker, but this looks much easier! Better for my Pershing too, since it's smoker is sitting on the shelf at the moment lol.

Where can I get a Mini Fan? I'd like to try the smoker mod.
