I have one of those recent 1/16 Lee Conversion kits... I'd really like a Grant turret and a second side hatch.. maybe some sand skirts... that would do it. to make that crazy Burmeze Lee into something more interesting...... or make A second side hatch.. shorter 75mm gun and the counter balance and the comanders cupola... to make a proper Lee.
It's a long shot, but worth asking.... who knows... as a back-up I was planning on scratch-building the Grant turret.. but am a bit gun shy of that....

Woz built a Priest, so he could do it. I manage it would all come down to time, and perhaps his interest in the subject matter.

I also started a M3 Lee last year
http://warrenhudsonmodelling.blogspo...-leegrant.html

I've been thinking of doing the Grant turret for a while. Whats the diameter of the turret ring on the Lee conversion kit.

WOW!!! Fantastic!!! the turret ring diameter is about 3 inches.. I would be happy to send you the conversion kit for sizing if that would help.. I think the turret Gun is the same for both the Lee and the Grant.. the Lee conversion kit has a long 75mm gun... which is pretty much useless.... and is missing the main 75mm gun side large hatch.. and of coarse it's missing the sand skirts..

... to build it as a Lee.. straight out of the box it's a late Burmese Lee if you are into that... for a Desert Lee... it would need the commanders cupola.... a shorter gun and possibly the barrel counter weight...

Let me know if you want me to send the conversion kit to you and we can organize it...

Your Lee is Fantastic.... at the very least.. I'd love to purchase a commanders cupola... I'd also love to see your Piiest.... how did you do the gun?

the hybrid Sherman is also Fantatsic!!!

any thoughts on doing an M10?

I really am blown away...

Thanks.

I'm in the UK so there's no point sending your kit here. Can you send me some pictures of how the turret fits on the hull and also the diameter of the hole for the commanders cupola (in mm if you can).

The priest is HERE
(with the build linked at the bottom)

You are a Rock Star! ... Your PRIEST is Awsome!!!! as for a Grant turret... if you are willing to do one... GREAT!!!! I'll help in anyway I can... let me know exactly what you need and I'll get on it...

What would it cost me?.... I would also like the M3 suspoension parts.. for a Heng Long Sherman conversion to an M3....that would be extremely helpful.... can I also get a side hatch? the Lee comes with only one and... finally is there any chance of sand skirts?

I'm just asking what ever you can do is great!!... the turret is the main thing......since the Lee conversion kit is a Burmese Lee.. I think the existing commanders hatch probably and ring will work for the Grant... but I'll follow your lead on what you want or need to

do what you do....

Hi Woz... here are some images that may be helpful.... I realized I do not need a second door...so that's one less thing to worry about... if you still have the M3 Suspension loaded in or loadable.. I could really use that... of coarse, the turret..Let me know if there is anything else I can do ti help... This is extremely cool!!!!

Woz... if this is too much of a hassle... I don't want to put you out... we are all busy ... so like I said, if you don't want to bother with it... I would be happy to purchase the Lee commanders Cupola and the M3 suspension.. which you already did all the work for... I leave it up to you... Thank you.. Joe

I just checked out your site... I think the Firefly Radio box as well as the small hatch conversion kit are really interesting.. does the firefly radio box come with the antenna base? What do these cost? How do I purchase?

all very cool stuff!

Thanks in advance and I look forward to your response.... Joe

i stalled on my lee but need to get back to it soon. i got the suspension conversion from Woz, look forward to that.
Are you considering doing the correct Lee coupola? if so I would buy one.

also, is there or not supposed to be a door on the gun side of the tank? when was it eliminated?

Hey Rich... this is what I know... first the gun-side door was phased out ....first it was simply welded shut.. then removed completely.. and finally a vision port... the last 2 steps could be inverted... but it's much like I stated... as for the Lee Cupola... if Woz is not doing a Grant turret.... I would also

like a Lee Commanders Cupola.. the Lee conversion that I purchased from that Hungarian.. is a Burmese or Indian Lee... later version.. that is why is is missing the gun-side door and the Cupola and has that longer 75mm cannon

I am hoping he will do a Grant Turret as I want to do an RC Grant.. The M3 Suspension conversion is absolutely a must and would like to get it... I have not heard from him so I do not know if I can get it or not... so it is all dependent on Woz at this point... I would also liker to purchase his

Firefly Turret Radio box and possibly the Small-hatch M4a1 conversion kit... but that is just my wish list.. I need to know cost first...

I use OPENSCAD for almost everything I've built so far. Recently I discovered Blenders sculpting tool which is great for welding shapes togethers (though I find everything else in Blender a bit complicated). Before I got my printer I had no CAD experience and I find Openscad is like building models with lego.
