Default RCU exhibiting wonky behavior again?

I have 5 different browsers on my machines, ie, Safari, Firefox, Chrome and Sea Monkey and RCU has been hehaving most wonky on all of them on win XP , win 7 and ( ugh ) win 8...

Wonky being the technical term we use ( login, session etc ), anyone else having issues with RCU?

I almost exclusively use Firefox, currently version 41.0.1 right now, on Windows 7 Ultimate. I just always stay auto-logged in to RCU, so I have also had RCU intermittent issues with the auto login when coming to the site on many occasions over the last few years.

However, I can't remember the last time I actually had to manually re-type in my login info . . . every time I have encountered the auto-login issue, it has eventually auto corrected by one of several different actions I've taken, or a combination of them ... either refreshing the page once, or even several times, deleting browser cache and then refreshing page, deleting browser cache then shutting down and restarting the browser.

Every time I see posts about this issue and have also encountered it, doing the above things has always ended up correcting the issue where the auto-login just worked again. Maybe I'm just lucky, lol, though that would be a first !!!

Hey Jerry... normally I would say to pull tighter on the string but I too have problems here, and only here.

It started after they upgraded the website (or whatever the technical term is these days) as logging in at certain times of the day are problematic. Could be traffic, I don't know.

We did loose features like blocking our favorite members and reporting threads/replies but all in all, it is free so I stay on. Glad you haven't left as I do enjoy your experience and large scale armor too!

I can log on no problem.... But personally I'm sick of the ads showing in the lead post every time....so I consider that a problem to be eliminated ...

I had trouble for 2 days. Friday it worked....but barely. Ads are pain, but the Viagra ad on the elevation post was ironic.

Viagra adds? I'm not getting anything like advertising, just the screen is compressed from the RCU Reviews at the right.

The log-in problems is the issue with me... just during busy times of the day.

Oh well, it IS free.

I am VERY displeased about the ads invading the OP's first post. I do not like my post being invaded by an ad. It makes it appear as if I approve of that ad to an unsuspecting tanker. I have sent a PM to an admin to see what is up and maybe a clarification on it.

My view on my phone. Bloody pain since it make it harder to read everything.

I just got conformation that these ads and the placement will not be removed or modified even for paying customers. I will be thinking on this one. I must say this does not look good.

This is not good. On my Ipad or phone this site is now unreadable. IF they don't do something about this, I may be looking for a new home after 9 years.

Well the moderator said "the ad will not be removed and will look into doing something for the small number of people complaining."
http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/off-...ideo-test.html

In my opinion there is a large number of people complaining.
If some of you would post in this thread maybe they would see the increasing number of unhappy users:

No problem getting on RCU, but I am unable to up-date my credit card info to resume posting ads. I emailed RCU and received a reply that they were having IT problems. The issue was to be resolved last Friday, but as of 5 minutes ago it's still not working.

I'm not above voicing my opinion however I know that advertising is a way of paying for this site.
Nothing is free however the decision not to remove ads from paying member's posts which I consider a cavalier attitude
AND the on going login problems will make me reconsider RCU also. Trying to determine the lesser of two weevils.

Some of us are silent outside of posting gripe threads as I did. We just stop using a thing.

Has RCU ever worked right? I joined RCU in 2011 and for the first year or so it was the only R/C site I used. Then it started giving me troubles, everything from login issues to slow loading, freezing up and so on. About a year ago I just quit using RCU and went to the "other" site and rarely come here anymore. I used to really like RCU but there always seemed to be a lot arguing and trashing each other. That combined with the technical issues drove me away.

I have no problem with ads, but when they are inserted into a post that totally messes up the formatting where the thread is unreadable (Tablet) then something needs to be done. Like Tanque said, many will just stop using the tool that causes so much frustration without saying a word. The result is the same. It is not like this is the only forum on the internet

It sounds like there has been enough noise that they know about the problem. I am just saying that for me, if this continues, I will find another forum to participate on.

I think a lot of us will be right there with you. I myself am not happy at all with this either. I was also told direct in PM this practice will not change as well.

For me , the ball is in RCU's court. I will wait and see what happens. Complain or not people will migrate to what is causing them less trouble. As a retailer you know the saying. "fF you are happy with my service tell others, if you are unhappy tell me" We can't fix what we don't know about. Hopefully RCU takes this seriously. IF this was my business I know I would.,

What's the point of getting more advertising if it drives everyone away? Who's going to be there to see these irritating commercials?
